I have a unique request, I need a picture of where the t tops latch in the front

I just started tearing into my 86 gn and Im having some rust issues. The part where the t tops latches to the front(the front corners of the car) are rusted out,Im in the process of grinding the rust out and soaking everything with por 15. I need to know how it looks so I can fabricate the missing metal,I dont know anyone around with a g body with t tops to use for reference. I want to repair these areas before starting on the rest of the car.Both sides are rusted in pretty much the same way. If one of you have a t top car and wouldnt mind sending me a picture or two that would solve my problem.

I was looking around for a g body t top car to use as a donor but havent had the time to really search in earnest. I hope to have the car all together and driving by the time the nats roll around in bowling green. Any help would be really, really apreciated!!!!

I'd bet Brian at G body has or can get the parts you need. Glad mine aren't near that bad though.

I may have to do just that, I was just looking at the photos of your wh1 trying to figure the best way to go about it.

Hopefully so,the ones I have looked at have the same problems that mine does. I found a great deal on a entire roof section on ebay but it was cost prohibitive to drive to get it or have shipped.I might go by meanmikes and look at his since hes not too far from me but I will still need the parts, Ill pm Brian and see if he has a line on what I need. Im going to keep scrounging salvage yards in hopes of finding a good donor.

LOL I got the idea. I believe Brian has started making the replacement parts in stainless so the issue is reduced from the rust.
