I keep getting premature failure with a v-belt?

My car keeps eating the V-belt going to the alternator. The belt keeps stretching out, and then I have to go re-adjust it. Their doesnt seem to be any adjustments for the alternator to help line it up any better with the crank pully. Anybody else have this problem?

all i can think of is the belt is in the wrong grove. are u sure the belts are on right?
