I must have put the wrong stuff in my........you know, inside the diff cover

It would bind a little now and then around turns. Then I noticed a leak. The last owner had put on a chrome cover and it started leaking. When I fixed it I refilled it with mobil 1 synthetic. Now the rub is really bad. Its a binding, vibrating rub, rub, rub when I go around turns. Did I destroy something or do I need to add some kind of a friction modifyer or something. I should have done more research but I thought the synt. stuff was fine by itself.

If it chatters as your rounding a corner, maybe you just need to add the posi additive to the gear lube.

thats what I am thinking. Is the synthetic stuff that I am using OK though. And what kind should I get...any ideas

The synthetic is fine, just add the GM additive...

Had the same problem...added the GM posi additive and everything is fine now.
