Chip and scanmaster at Turbo Tweak. Ported elbow GBody parts or contact member Bison (Brian). AEM WB02 Summit Racing.

I just purchase power logger and a chip for basically stock setup except 86/87 ecm. Now the scan master says its for 86/87 my car is a stock 84 Sfi turbo. Anyways what is needed to place the new chip in a 86/87 ecm and where can I get the ecm? Just stocking up on stuff to put on over my winter break and what's the wide band data logging about which should I get at that web site

The scanmaster can be used with the 84/85 ecm but won't display as much info as 86/87. Buy it first before you purchase go fast goodies so you can monitor KR and O2 millivolts. As far as the 86/87 ecm upgrade Casper's Electronics is the place for that if you decide to do so. I would ditch the stock fan next and use the dual ramcharger fans with Casper's hi/lo relays setup for 84/85 (GBody Parts). Plug the coolant lines on the throttle body while your at it.

Ok bought all but wb. Going to have to wait till next pay to get the wb ( wide band data logging) and 86/87 ecm......what else should be needed for the ecm conversion from stock to 86/87???

So what I ordered is......

Power logger
Scan master
Computer chip for 86/87 ecm from turbo tweak

A few performancfacts:
A 3” DP is cool, and the ported elbow has been +120MPH on an IC’d set-up. (Don’t misunderstand: Not suggesting a better flowing DP won't be beneficial ;) )
If you are spending $$, it is better spend purchasing PL/Scan master/WB/Chip. Unless you already have this of course .

Patience/Tuning/combo will take you farther than any performance "bolt on part" on these cars.

Re: Need one? Really depends on your chip and tuning knowledge of your set-up. Many on this board have tuned without one. If however you will be using a "Closed loop WOT" and/or "SD" chip, you will need one. . . . If you will not be using any of these chips, you don’t "need one", but it is still highly recommended. Do you want a gauge with it or will you use PL/SM for display? If no, the “AEM inline” is a good unit. Whatever you decide to get, use a model that is listed in the pull-down on the PL console as any of those will work. If you decide to get one, purchase from a board vendor. Hope this helps.
