The Lakers are getting their arse handed to them tonight:wink: Almost looks like a set up job:rolleyes:

Football season is just around the corner:biggrin:

Kobie is no Jordan and choked along with his entire team. That was the lamest NBA final ever.

Not if you're a Celtics fan....;) I liked it alot. :D About time they raised another banner in Boston.

I'm definately a Celtics fan and actually have a real NBA Authetic leather ball from 1986 signed by Bird and the crew. It's at my fathers house. Probably worth quite a bit of money now.

I'm still searching for the white player on the Celtics team. They use to have (3) white starters at one time. I doubt I will ever see that again in my lifetime. I heard they have one that's like 4th string or something.... It may just be a rumor... It was nice to see Ray Allen a UCONN star do well.

Laker got their ass handled to them. Wow what a beating, wondering what they're talking about now. kobe going bye bye from the laker you head it hear first:D .

No worries!!!!---college b'ball will start in november and my heels are looking pretty good for the next season!!!!

Pretty good? We got an NBA team:biggrin:

Like said above Kobe is no Jordan! Never will be another man to dominate like the man from NC:cool:

I was surprised the Lakers even won a game. Boston had the package this year....

Kobe is definitely no Jordan and I HATE when they try to compare him to Jordan. Certain players like Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and my personal favorite Pete Maravich should never be compared to any of these newer players, however, they will always be the benchmark by which great players have to measure up too. I remember a little while back one of these sports casters was trying to compare Jason Williams to Pete Maravich, yet Jason Williams couldn't even hold a candle to Maravich or the way he played the game (avg. 44 PPG in College without the 3pt line).

On Jason Williams best day he would school Maravich IMO but he is a head case and could never be consistent. 44 points a game with a 3 point line means like 55 points a game. He was impressive to say the least.

Just another sport ruined by free agency & overpayed thugs...

Kobe is going no where. he said next season we are going to have a really strong team once a healthy Andrew B returns. If they can get one more good shooter they will be the Champs next year. Every era hasasuperstar Kobe is the superstar of his era. Lebron is the superstar of his era. In my eyes Kobe is a better player then Jordan was. Jordan was a great player, and a great clutch player in the 4th quarter, but damn he missed a ton of shots. He did not have a great shooting percentage. He had a great supporting cast and had the eye of the tiger mentallity of never quitting and always play hard. His popularity took off after the slam dunk contest when the league was looking for the next great. They were pumping up Vince Carter the same way until his weak mentality started to show and he became half man, half a season. The NBA was looking to brand Vince as the next best thing. They even had a Vincanity camera film Vince only for highlight reals to build up a Vince compulation. Problem was, he was not leader material. He never wanted the spotlight or the brunt of the team on his shoulder so that eventually flopped. I am a die hard Jordan fan, but with todays technology in training and everything else, the bar is always being set to a higher level. Watch old footage of NBA tapes. Very seldomly did the greats use both hands when dribbling, or cross overs. Look at the level the game is at now. You ever see Jamal Crawford do that crossover behind his back???/that is crazy. I could go on and on cause I love basketball, but thats my 2 cents.

THANK YOU CELTICS.

Now if we can get the BRUINS to make it a FOREPLAY.

Greatness does happen in New England!

Stole this from another forum. Not sure if 100% accurate.

# of scoring titles: Jordan 10, Kobe 1

# of career 50+ point games: Jordan 38, Kobe 12

# of career 40+ point games: Jordan ~220, Kobe 70

# of seasons shooting over 50%: Jordan 6, Kobe 0 (make a mental note of this number-- we'll be seeing it a lot)

# of seasons shooting 48% or better: Jordan 10, Kobe 0 (told you we'd be seeing it)

# of seasons shooting 4.5+% above the league average: Jordan 5, Kobe 0 (drats! There's that number again!)

# of seasons shooting 3+% above league average: Jordan 8, Kobe 0 (Kobe should patent the number zero)

# of playoff series averaging > 40 ppg: Jordan 6, Kobe 0 (Kobe should put all these zeroes in the bank to get some interest, at least)

# of playoff series averaging > 8 assists: Jordan 4, Kobe 0 (I'm at a loss for words)

# of career playoff games of 50+ points: Jordan 8, Kobe 1

# of steals titles: Jordan 3, Kobe 0 (same amount my grandmother has)

# of seasons above 2 steals/gm: Jordan 9, Kobe 1

# of seasons above 1 block/gm: Jordan 3, Kobe 1 (and it was the shortened season, at that)

# of seasons leading the league in PER: Jordan 7, Kobe 0 (3-3, 4*0, and 82+7-89 all equal zero, FYI)

# of top 2 finishes in PER: Jordan 10, Kobe 0 (I see a trend here)

Seasons of PER > 29: Jordan 7, Kobe 0 (Kobe apparently lives in a village populated by zeroes)

Average PER by age 28: Jordan 30.2, Kobe 24.4

# of seasons leading the league in EFF: Jordan 4, Kobe 0 (yep, definitely a trend)

# of top 3 finishes in EFF: Jordan 9, Kobe 0 (how many zeroes can be associated with one human being?)

Average EFF by age 28: Jordan 33.4, Kobe 24.9

# of seasons above 57% TS: Jordan 7, Kobe 0 (Kobe has more zeroes than the price tag of the conciliatory diamond ring he bought for Vanessa)

# of seasons above 60% TS: Jordan 4, Kobe 0 (wow...just wow)

# of seasons above 1.2 ppfga: Jordan 4, Kobe (wait for it...) 0

# of All-NBA First Team selections: Jordan 10, Kobe 4

# of MVP's: Jordan 5, Kobe 1

# of top 3 finishes in MVP voting: Jordan 10, Kobe 1

# of Finals MVP's: Jordan 6, Kobe 0 (you know-- goose eggs, doughnuts)

# of championships: Jordan 6, Kobe 3

# of championships as the best player on his team: Jordan 6, Kobe 0 (nada, zilch, a null set)

# of DPOY awards: Jordan 1, Kobe 0 (perhaps Kobe should've went with "0" instead of "24" for the upcoming season)

# of Defensive First Team selections: Jordan 9, Kobe 4

Career averages through age 28:

Jordan: 33.0 pts, 6.4 reb, 6.0 ast, 2.8 stl, 1.1 blk (52.3% FG)

Kobe: 27.6 pts, 5.9 reb, 5.3 ast, 1.7 stl, .6 blk (45.3% FG)

Career playoff averages through age 28:

Jordan: 34.6 pts, 6.8 reb, 7.1 ast, 2.5 stl, 1.1 blk (51% FG)

Kobe: 26.1 pts, 5.4 reb, 5.1 ast, 1.5 stl, .7 blk (44% FG)

I don't think the NBA is a joke, I actually think there is a lot of talent in the league.

Lakers will dominate the West again when Bynum comes back and is healthy for a full year. Who the hell can compete against 2 Centers ( both being top 5 ) and then Odom and Bryant in their starting line up? I like the Spurs but if they lost without Bynum playing then the whole West is toast next year unless the Spurs pick up a studly big man.

Jordan was definitely not an average shooter, if you go past 1990 he no longer was getting the dunks like he used too so all those stats are mainly jumpers etc.
Never gets enough credit for his free throw shooting.
