without all the information i needed

first question, what is the bolt torque for the valve body bolts and is there a particular sequence?

second question, when taking off the TV linkage from the valve body it sort of just shot out a spring and a metal wire thing shaped like a T kinda. Now i have no idea how that goes back together

third question, my trans was acting like the gov. spring was out so i went to put in a spring to find that the spring is in there on the small weight. from what I understand there is only one spring on these things. True? The larger weight had no spring and is just loose there. Could i have a bigger problem on my hands or maybe does this thing infact use two springs? I installed the new spring on the big weight thinking maybe it did but now i dont know.

The car was shifting late into 2nd and shifting way late into third, it would shift super late into over drive and pop in and out of over drive

i figured with it apart i would install a shift kit at the same time

look here ,theres nothing stupid about trying to do something youve never done before.the only stupid thing imo would be walking away from it now.get a manual or call the company you bought it from and finish the job, good luck

Maybe this will help

I really couldn't see those pix too good. The governor does only have one spring. As for the late shifting it may be a misadjusted t.v. cable. Press the D tab and pull the cable out a click or two and see what happens. I can't help you on the other stuff. I've heard only good things about the CK manual but I just can't spare that much for one when I don't plan on doing my own work anyways. I hope this helps.

Yeah, what chris is saying is "buy MY manual". His customer service sucks by the way. I bought 2 items from him that came with NO directions....so its funny that he replied to this post. He never returned my call, my email, my fax. So, I sent them back. I like to deal with companies that have some sort of customer service. Gee, I wonder if CKperformance and Aggressive auto are the same shop??????

what did you buy andy?anyone who requests info from us does get it.some things do fall thru the cracks unintentionally.with our new baby and me running the office as well as other things its amazing there arent 100 other complaints like yours but there isnt.now if your so upset and didnt get instructions with something why didnt you call in again?we are very interested in our customers needs.i didnt tell the guy to buy my manual either, maybe you have trouble reading.and if you purchased the products thru me send them back.ill gladly refund your money.

Thanks Pete but I managed to get it back together using another source for information.

CK, I only asked 3 remarkably simple questions that could have been answered in the time it took you to reply. You didn't have to answer.

BTW the PTS kit I installed seems to work as advertised, very firm shifts... never did chirp any gears before.. now its easy.

Strangely, the spring was still on the governor when i took it all apart. I changed the spring anyway and hoped for the best. Dont know what I did but it is fixed now. I think maybe the gasket for the governor might have been bad.. dont know if that could cause the issues I was having.

just tried to give you some encouragement based on your opening statement.i guess you tok my advice because you fixed it.good luck with your pts shift kit.

Glad to see you got what you needed figure out Pablo. The first question is some info we may want to add to the instruction sheet just on general principle. The second question kind of follows the first. I should of sold you a manual as well, or if you need an indepth one, Chris has an excellent hi po manual now. The spring on the large weight is something many have and some came without the spring from the factory. We have new GM governors for 87 GN's and some have both springs and some don't.
Good to see you got it all together and things are working well. Let us know if something comes up or you have a question.

Bruce and I both were away from the computers this weekend. Seems like life was laborious on Labor Day. Ain't it always that way?

Hey Andy.... there is a forum for feedback for vendors..... I don't know you or Chris.... but I have read enough posts that he was replying to... to help others.... so do like your mom probably told you when you were young......."...if you don't have anything nice to say....... don't say anything at all......"

The original poster needed some help.... that's all.....nothing else.
