alright. i knew i wouldnt get to enjoy anything for any amount of time..

nice WOT run... maybe 70 or 80 or so.. all of a sudden car noses over.. stops pulling, immediately i let off 100%.. coast for maybe 5-10 seconds to slow down.. i get back in the throttle, maybe.. 1/4 throttle, a few psi.. all of a sudden...

BAM!!!!!!!!!
i look in rearview.. sparks.. car dies.

asking my friends who were over 50ft behind me what they saw
"fire.. out of the downpipe" "it looked like a lightbulb just lit up under your car and went off" "**** man how loud was it to you cause it sounded like a gunshot to me"

this aint cool. that was maybe 16psi on 38psi fuel pressure.

to tell my car 'you suck ass' i lowered te boost to like 12psi and upped the FP to 45psi. The blms at idle are 124, integrator is 122.

what could this be? i have a few ideas of my own i'll post once i get a few of yours..

did some testing

temp: ~55*
boost: 15-16psi
fuel pressure: 45psi base
chip: 17* jc93
gas 3/4 tank 93 octane
o2's: 820-790
knock: 1.2*, 4.7*, instantaneous at shifts and o2 dips

two 15-60mph runs in WOTLBJ1.zip
rename to .ecm to use it with t-link

one 0-90mph run in WOTRUN2.zip
rename to .ecm

how do these runs look to you guys?

I can't read the info because webtv sucks. Two things come to mind. Cam sensor too close to "the edge" and sparkplug gap too wide. My car acted a lot like yours for a whole year until I closed the gaps to .030.

Does your fuel rail hold pressure? (injector leakdown?) If you were above 45 while coasting, your injectors should've been turned off by the ECM, but it sounds like your were still dumping fuel while coasting, the vapors collected in the exhaust, and lit off when you got back in the throttle...

If any of you have ever driven a carbed car and turned off the key for a few seconds while still in gear, and remember what happened when you turned the key back on, you know what I'm talking about!
