We all might not agree on what our leadership does, but as a military person, it is their duty to follow the orders, unless they are unlawful. I served 27 years and it’s not all about the combat time. There were years of field time, deployments for exercises and schooling that I was away from my family. Hell I spent 9 months of my 12 months "DWELL TIME" in the freaking field! I did my time and I am in no way putting myself in the same category as our heroes of our past wars. I could not imagine having to fight in the conditions they were in. In my opinion, ANYONE who decides to serve his/her country in ANY field that helps and supports our common beliefs and maintains our safety, all for substandard pay, IS MY HERO!!!!
If you have a problem with how things are run, don't blame the military! Blame those SOB's inside the belt way that have their own personal agendas.

the guy wasn't blaming the people in the military or even saying that they aren't heroes... what he was saying is that the wars that they have been directed to fight by the "leadership" in DC have done nothing to protect America from any sort of an existential threat. the last real threat to the USA came in the 1940's. every war since then has been fought for politics or money.
