If anyone read my previous posts they know that I just purchased a Directscan and laptop. Now I would like to also get into tuning with a wideband O2 sensor. Like a lot of people I don't know anything about it. Even the location where to mount it in the downpipe has been a topic of discussion. There are stand alone sensors with gauges (both analog and digital), different companies make them (don't know which company is best), Gen2 actually monitors the air/fuel ratio and changes it to your liking, etc. etc. Personally, I have a TT chip (which I don't think I can tweek), and Directscan/laptop. I don't know which WB to buy but apparently turbobob can modify my ECM to accept the WB input to accomodate Directscan. Would I then send my chip back to Eric so that he can tweek it for me based on my O2 readings? As you can tell I'm really lost. I also have Razor's alchy. Thanks.

TT chips are supposed to have many udjustable features such as timing and fueling. You have instructions?
Unless you've got a really really old one.

If you want to have the wideband controlled then you need the Full Throttle chip with your Gen 2 or Maft pro etc. I have a TT with Gen 2 & just got the Extender Extreme chip so I can command what I want but Dont Ask me How yet? My friend has the Maft pro & he is setting up my Gen 2 come spring to stay on my A/F target numbers. The TT wont do it like the Extender BUT the TT does have a lot of timing & fuel changes you can do as mentioned.

I do have instructions but when I questioned Eric about changing something he said I couldn't, even though I thought the instructions said I could. I think it was fueling but I could be wrong.

Eric sells a wide band chip, its been out for a few years. He also has a speed density setup to eliminate the maf sensor. Wouldnt it be great to have a speed density setup and target a/f numbers so guys like me with many many turbo buicks can swap the tune between cars and not have to bother with expensive translators and mafs? :)

What is written on your TT chip. That will give us an idea of what you're working with. Tuning with a wideband is not too hard. I use a powerlogger, 6.0 TT chip and Innovate Wideband. I will be switching to a NGK over the winter.

not to be a dick but i think you need to use the search button

Version 5.5.

I love helpfull comments like this one. Actually I used the search function and while there is a lot of good info, it is all spread out in many threads. I think it would be nice if it were consolidated in one place.

Stock injectors?

Small injectors could be the reason Eric said you can not add any more fuel. He may have them maxed out already.

Wideband tuning is simple. You set the target air fuel ratio then watch the wide band correction for fuel being added or subtracted. From there you can add or subtract fuel to get correction close to 0%.

Though I could be wrong, with a TT chip I do believe you need a Powerlogger to achieve wide band tracking function. If you already have a genII translator, then a extender G chip would be the way to go.

Just my $.02

I would upgrade to at least a 5.6 version. It adds 1st gear fuel, which I found useful when tuning take off. It was useful in dialing in the alky kits first hit also. Many people do it many diffrent ways. Now the power logger is my co-pilot! I am using a 6.0 chip from Eric( check it out on his site). This will help in controlling fueling to attain the target A/F ratio. Its well worth the coin. 11.0 is what im set at for the moment and the car feels good. Pump gas and alky. Too lean for some peoples comfort. An A/F of 10.5 seems to be the average starting point I see suggested for Pump gas and Alky
