I would like your opinions on my set up. My specs are in my sig.

I want the car to run high 10's and maybe it will now? I haven't had a chance to go to the track yet.

The car was built in 2004 (not by me) so maybe there is a better set up that will fit in to my car now.

I have limited knowledge but I'm learning. I want the car to run hard as safe as possible.

Any suggestions?

I don't think you will be high 10s with that, and im sure other guys on here will tell you that your 42's were getting close to max for your dyno numbers.

Im just curious, cause we went over this in another thread, but did you ever talk to the prev owner who dyno'd the car? Did he say why he stopped at whatever PSI it ran at? (if I remember correctly you said 23-24?)

You need to upgrade to 60lb injectors to start with. Get some Mickey's Drag radials . You need a good fuel system.

I found an old thread when he dynoed the car and he basically didn't want to push his luck. He was trying to find a safe top level number. They were getting some funny knock numbers on the dyno and could decide if it was false or not? They suspected the new pistons giving false readings. I have the set up he used for each pull I found on a sheet of paper in the receipt box. Not sure if he has a quality tuner at the dyno or not? I don't think the PO had a lot of knowledge at that time.

The psi was 24/25

Well, here is the thread, some good info in here. Take a look and tell me what you think.

I have 275 DR's on 10" stretched stock rims. I believe I have an upgraded fuel pump and hotwire set up. I'll have to find receipts but I'm pretty sure I read Walbro fuel pump somehwere. edit.....it's a red's xp plus fuel pump

What brand of injectors?

Those injectors are your weak point...move up to atleast 60s and a matching chip.

I'm going to call TT today and order new injectors and a chip. I have a TT chip now. I would like to get a few passes in this fall at Cordova dragway in IL. I haven't been to the track since 2005.

What about my Turbo? I was reading the sticky in the turbo section and it looks like they've upgraded technology a lot since the TA 60.

Just keep in mind you can ALWAYS upgrade something on the car. If your car was tuned with the 42.5's and your chip then you may just want to put the boost back to where it was tuned and run it like that. You start upgrading the injectors, chip, turbo, etc, then realistically you should retune. Up to you.....

Makes sense,

I want to turn the car back up and have some fun. Just thought if there was a better way (safer) to run more boost since what I have on the car is almost 8 years old I would check in to it.

What I really need to do is stop reading this forum :) It gives me too many ideas.

With your combo you can probably just turn up the boost and it will be fine for your goals. As people already mentioned the injectors are a bit small but to be safe at that power level you should KNOW what the system is actually doing. Spend some $$ on buying sensors to monitor boost and fuel pressure and let Power Logger record it all.

I’d recommend getting these items:
Audio knock detector
Sensor to monitor fuel pressure (this saved my A$$ a few weeks ago)
3.5 bar MAP sensor to monitor higher (over 30psi) boost levels
Power Logger

Once you have these and you can verify that the fueling is safe then start cranking up the boost and let alchy do its job. It will take you a lot farther than you think.
If the logs show that the fuel system is not keeping up THEN make the purchases that are needed to keep the fueling safe.
