IBM Thinkpad & Tlink

Just changed over computers from a Compaq 486 to a IBM Thinkpad pent. I loaded Tlink on the thinkpad but cannot get it to linkup with the ecm unless the engine is running. With my older computer tlink would link in the on position without the engine running, Anyone else have this happen to them

Hi Jim....I think I figured it out...just glad that the new tlink will use a different port

Was it the port mode like we were talking about? Or something running on the laptop?

i had a 760E, it was a BIATCH to get to connect, sometimes it would sometimes it wouldnt, it would also PAUSE every now and again and then start back up, finally got pissed off and got rid of it, perhaps it was not getting enough voltage from the laptop...i dont know, i just hate the thinkpad series because of that!!!
