Greetings!

I recently got some heavy duty IC hoses from Kirban. The tick black ones. I'm having a problem with them. The hoes that goes into the intake keeps blowing off under boost. Has anyone see this before? Ialso got a set of the better clamps (the ones with the nut) and it still happens. I'm afraid to really clamp down on it. Will I damage the intake housing if I do?

Help!

if you crank down too hard on the throttle body there is a chance that you may crack it-

but id guess if yours is popping off then, your not getting it on tight enough-

when you put it on, does it line up flush and look seated all the way around the t-body?

I have only had mine blow off once after installing my alky kit, you might want to increase the IC hose length and the heavy duty clamps should NOT be blowing off, at least the nut kind, i would say keep tightening until they are reasonably tight and you can see the hose OUTSIDE the hose starting to overlap the outside of the clamp....hopefully you understand that, with a front mount and alcohol i have never blown one off, just make sure they are TIGHT...

ohh and one more thing, when i had my stock IC i always did a pull off test, if you can pull it off by hand it is not tight enough:)

ive had this happen to me before... i just retightened the hoses then i was good to go! :D

I think the clamp I have is too big. On the throttle body there is a small grove about 1/4 inch wide. The clamp is wider and is not seating in the groove properly . So I put a screw type on and tighen it down real good. Hopefully that will do it.

The T-Nut clamp is the BEST one out there......and it's almost impossible to blow this off IF you are placing it on correctly and tightening it to spec.!!

I once heard of a guy that was Epoxying the "nipples" before assembling the IC hoses.......a little Overkill IMO, but whatever it takes, right?

Good luck!
