Hey Guys ---

I got my car state inspected and they put the car on a lift to look underneath. I may be seeing things ( I tend to think I ALWAYS get damage when I get my vehicle back from a shop because I inspect it so good after it comes back, lol ) ... but it looks like the panel on the drivers side behind the door is slightly twisted (wrinkled).

It hasnt been hit by anything , because there is absolutely NO paint damage and its not a crease, more like a twisted look.

Thanks for your opinions. I just figured if this is a known problem someone would be able to clue me in. I hope not, because I doubt I will be able to prove anything anyway ... I am just curious. ---

Depends on where exactly they put the lift support on your car ... I take it the ligft used is one of those with 4 swing arms that the should position on the frame rails somewhre so if they did positon the front ones where the front fenders bolt into the chassi then yes they would bend the whole thing but if y ou look underneath you would see serious damage die to the weight on the car I suspect ....

If just a normal drive on ramp/lift then no damage could have been done unless they hit sometihgn driving it on/off the ramp

If lifted from the wrong spot the front fender will bulge out. Your door and front fender will not line up to the touch. If this is what happened I can tell you what to do to fix it.

this is what happens if they jack it in the wrong spot...

Thanks guys , I guess I just had a dent in the car that I didnt notice before.

The problem panel is the rear side drivers panel behind the door ... not in front ---

Just FYI, it is sometimes difficult for the swing arms to reach those inside front frame rails, especially is the cat or the flexible exhaust pipe section is in the way, a lazy shop will try to lift it front the outter section which is WRONG, they'll have to get down on their hands and knees to get the pads in the right spot on the front.
On my lift, both arms have to be fully extended and the car perfectly centered between the lift for the lift pads to reach that inner frame rail section.
Raise it from the wrong position and the doors won't open/close while lifted either.
