I bought a new pump because the old one was leaking, now the new one is leaking after less than a year.

I started with a used SMC dual nozzle kit. The pump died, so I plumbed it to use an external shur flo, then installed the second shur-flo after the leaks. I have the pump located where the charcoal canister once lived. I still use the dual nozzle, and the SMC controller. I keep the controller on 5, and I don't adjust the pump for high pressure via it's own switch. I assumed that less pressure = less chance of the new one springing a leak. I was wrong. I use denatured alcohol only.

Thoughts before I throw in the towel? I want to just start fresh and buy Razors kit complete including new up-pipe and nozzle, but I fear that I will end up with a leak on the pump as it is the same as mine.

Razor goes through his pumps by hand and gives them a thorough "working" before you even get'em - he stands behind his product 100% and so do I and alot of this community - YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! top notch product from a top notch guy... just look at all the 10 sec pump gas cars around and see what they're running

I dont think I have yet to hear of one of Razor's kits leaking. Save your self the headaches and buy the best and be done. i'm glad i did

pumps

all pumps can fail. No matter how cheap or expensive. I remember a member here that had an 83 lb injector fail to open or fire which resulted in a major engine failure. Yes our pumps are completely alcohol specific built by us. Tested on bench and we do our absolute best to keep our valued customers operating to the best of our abilities. Even ours can fail. We are not superhuman. Just people who love what we do. If and when a failure happens we don't just keep making the same mistakes. We learn from them and build from them. A shurflo pump out of the box will fail. Not a matter of if, but when. Give us a call at the shop number listed in our signatures m-f from 9a.m. - 6p.m. eastern time. Julio will lead you in the right direction. The money saved from not running race fuel sometimes has to be spent in a direction to continue the longevity of mechanical and electrical devices. Hope this gave you some insight into alcohol injection pumps!

I would definatey go with the kit just for the fact that AlkyControl is the best company I have ever done business with when it comes to standing behind their product.
My pump was acting up early this year. I gave them a call, and through some simple process of elimination over the phone, we narrowed it down to the pump. I sent it back and within a week or so I had a rebuilt/upgraded pump and some updates to the kit sitting on my front porch. All free of charge. :D
