Normally, I'd already know the answer to this question but I think I have too many irons in the fire and I need some space to breathe.

I have a few TR's and I think that I might need to let one go. Problem is that I can't decide which one and what kind of money I'd ask for.

I have an 86 GN which is finished. 88k, Astroroof/Powerseat combo. RPO is loaded with 95 codes. Paint is fresh and perfect, Interior is redone (front seats got factory material before it was disco'd). Zero rust. Minimal mods. Bigger turbo, injectors, chip, alky, etc... (Not really too keen on selling)

Then there's the 86 TTYPE. It has 72k, ASC Sunroof, No power locks, seats, windows, or cruise. Perfect paint (Black-with chrome bumpers) (Just finished painting in Dec 08). Interior is grey and super nice. Car is 99% original/stock. Mufflers were changed at one point and original tires/battery are long gone. I did do the vacuum brake conversion. Car still has original chip and all the emissions stuff on it. Cat and all! And it passed the CA smog tests like a new car.

I've also got a TTop 86 GN that's in the process of being built but I don't think that's ready to be sold in it's present condition.

I'm leaning toward selling the TTYPE as I just hate to mod an untouched car.

On the other hand, I'm apprehensive about selling in this market because people seem to be giving their cars away. I don't need to sell but it would be nice to take a few things off my plate.

So what are your thoughts? Am I completely insane for even thinking about it? Or should I sell? If so, which one and for how much?

If you can get what you want out of it, then sell it. If not, build a larger garage.
Once you build the garage, you wont have any money left over for mods, so its a wash. You get to keep your cars AND have more room LOL

I have my silver car up for sale, offered it locally for what i thought was dirt cheap. Ebay tends to bring the best amount because you get a larger amount of people looking.

Currently im bidding on a TTA on ebay, i have no idea why. I dont need it, but if it was a good deal, then it will be here.

Pretty much thats what everyone is looking for, a real good deal on these cars, and now the market has dropped, your going to get offers for less than you would expect.

Guy across from my work says, if its paid for and doesnt cost you anything, why sell it now? Keep it, stash it in the corner, enjoy it since its yours.

BW:biggrin:

I've actually been thinking of a building a seperate garage/workshop as well. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment. Heck, I don't even drive these cars...(well, it's very rare that they get driven- just no time anymore)

Make one your daily driver for 3-4 years. That will get you right back into getting go fastitis

Got any good turbo regal buddies close to your area? Seems i enjoy working on thier cars as much as they enjoy working on mine.

Drive them more often, when my pickup starts feeling fast, i know ive been driving it too long and have to hop into the buick for awhile.

You in cali?

I'm in a similar situation and I'm selling my '70 Buick GS455 original numbers matching car. Set a fair price for whichever one you so choose. You have to live with the sale and hopefully not have seller's remorse. I hear you loud and clear on scaling back some. My GS car is getting alot of interest now so it may go soon. Do what makes you happy, it's only a car (object) and cars will come and go. This said from one who has been in this hobby for 32 years.

I used to have an 86 TTYPE back in 93 as my daily driver that was stolen when I was stationed in Korea. After that loss, it was tough to find another to replace my baby.

Since I've gotten back into TR's I've gone insane. I can't keep myself from making each car as nice as possible. Mine are so nice that I dread driving them so I won't get nicks, chips, dings...

I actually liked driving the ones with crappy paint so I wouldn't have to worry about them. ;)

If I had a bigger garage I might be more active with the cars but it might just give me another excuse to buy another TR...

What do you think these cars should be worth, realistically (this market and a better market)- Personally, I'd like a million bucks each :D What is realistic?
