what the people want to see is a bunch of rednecks out there duking it out instead of clean cut yankee pretty boys like Kasey Kahn, Jimmy Johnson, and Kyle Busch whining every time someone refuses to give them a spot and puts a scratch on their precious pretty car.
no mullet, no white trash mustache, probably no grease under his finger nails, whines and stomps off like a little girl when things don't go his way..Kyle Busch considered a pretty boy? I'm pretty sure my wife thinks he's uglier than Donnie Allison ever was![]()
i blame Tom Cruise and Days of Thunder for NASCAR's demise.it was a long slow death that played out over a 20 year period.
Jeff Gordon came in right when NASCAR started going to crap, and he became the poster child for the "new" nascar when Rick Hendrick and DuPont made him shave the 'stache and chop off the mullet and drive a car with a freakin rainbow painted on it.

i've never had anything against him as a driver becasue he is a clean driver that can get properly aggressive when necessary, but he was the one that got the "Cole Trickle" image makeover first, and i don't think there have been any real rednecks come into theCup series since then.
which is too bad- because what the people want to see is a bunch of rednecks out there duking it out instead of clean cut yankee pretty boys like Kasey Kahn, Jimmy Johnson, and Kyle Busch whining every time someone refuses to give them a spot and puts a scratch on their precious pretty car.
I was at Daytona in 2001 when Dale Earnhardt died. That was the day the music died for me.

X3 NASCAR died with Dale Sr. Wonder what things would be like if he were still around?? As most Earnhardt fans did we put our allegience to Dale Jr, but he has turned out to be a poor pretender to the throne. Can't remember the last time I watched an entire race.
You have read my mind. NASCAR died with Dale Sr.
Nascar is trying to go main stream but they are going over the falls to their death. They need to listen to the fans.

NASCAR isn't "trying" to go mainstream- they've been mainstream for probably 15 years. they are trying to "stay" mainstream, but everything they do seems to push more and more of what's left of the old school hardcore fanbase away. and those are the fans they should be trying to keep. the 'shootout style' double file restarts that they over hyped for about 2 weeks was a good palce to start with keeping the real fans around, now if they'd just find a way to get rid of all the big 5 car teams and make the cars look like something you can actually go to a dealer and buy, then they'd really be onto something.
personally, i think NASCAR will be about 100% better in about 5 years when most of the big money is gone and most of what is left is the real racers that would be doing it even if they weren't getting paid.
I got four letters for ya NHRA !!! The ridealong thing was bs that sucks if you wanna go for a ride along i tell you what heres a few freebies for ya..Go sign up on the marlboro mailing list usually theres hot chicks at your local bar or club passing out zippos to sign you up, even if you dont smoke (i dont ) put down you like autoracing and anything they have they will hook you up but heres the think open the mailers read them and send the stuff back occasionally youll need marlboro miles but its not hard to find them from people you know, 8 times outta ten you wont though me my gf and my best friend have all gotten seperate offers and gone on a ride along in an iroc (international race of champions) car at our track MIS we the took us for three laps at about 140-150 then they took us out autocross in a new stang v6 the guy i had was drifting the corners it was pretty cool for being a slightly modded v6 mustang and then we got to ride in a panoz car on the road rasce track in the infield it was called ride with the pros.. Also my friend got tix to the indy car race and got t shirts and got autographs from the marlboro drivers and got to hang in the vip lounge i was in the $hitter and missed the autographsit was all free tho i just sent the mailer back in.. They also sent me a debit card with $10 on it and when i sent in 20 marlboro miles the loaded another $20 on it!!!!
Also i went to bondurant driving school and checked it out cause i happened to be in chandler arizona at the time ,and they took me ,my co-driver, and my cousin on some hot laps in a new corvette and he wasnt even goin easy on it, im talkin 70-80 hangin the tail out thru the corners and 140+ down the straights it was awesome and they didnt charge us a dime!!! im definately gonna go to a class...

i couldn't decipher much of that, but IROC no longer exists and Marlboro is no longer allowed to sponsor anything.
