Just got my car back from Bedford Auto in Westchester and DAMN, I have the Mease (I know, please I bought it before he ripped everyone off) downpipe which was Swain coated and the electric cutout from TR Custom Parts. Damn that is like crack. Sounds unbelievable with the down pipe open. 3 dudes at my job had their mouths open like this= and then smiles ear to ear like this=:D
Whoever doesn't have one, save up and get it. Worth its weight in gold. When you decelerate it even has that crackling exhaust popping that most uncapped muscle cars/bikes have. You would swear you are in an Indy car with 15psi. My daughter even kept playing with the switch and said it was really cool. Let you know later what the boss 'my wife' says:wink:

Oh and my engine is fairly stock with a Weber 206/206 roller cam.

I love the cutouts!

I put one on my WRX and was immediately hooked so I put one on my GN and ordered a third one for another of my TRs. It really is the best investment. It always makes me smile...
:cool::cool::cool:

OK, just got back from the local car show. Wife likes it and my son really doesn't care unless John Cena or Rey Mysterio is pressing the button:rolleyes: My daughter still loves it. It really is bad a$$. Car got a lot of looks. I will be going deaf a lot sooner than I planned.
Yes Mark I like it. I like anything I buy from you:cool:;)

I love driving around with the cutout open. It sounds sweeeeeet and women around here like it. Its also good for intimidation kills.

how do you do it, or where do you go to get it done/purchase?

I got mine from Summit for $28 plus s/h. Take your car to a muffler shop and tell them where you want it. Mine is right after the DP where the cat would be. Im still working on some issues with my TR but at only 10-12#s it sounds friggin awesome. The turbo spool is just as loud as a semi truck. Just be careful around cops, I mean its really no louder than a set of Flows on a healthy V8 but the TR's 3.8 has a distinctive exhaust note that draws attention when the cutout is open.

Think you might be confusing a dump pipe with the cutout. Dump pipe is what the cutout bolts on to. Here is a link to my site with the ones we sell and use ourself. http://buickgn.com/electricexhaustcutout.htm

After many years using Mark's cutout I went the Quiet Sneaky way. You can hardly hear my car until it goes by you.
Mark has Great Customer service & sent me a switch when mine went bad so buy from him!
As I get older I like the quiet silent type with my cars. ;)

Can Anybody chime in on the seal after a few years? I like the idea of an electric cutout but would not like the exhaust noise if it didnt seal well.

Go to the link in TR Custom Parts, buy that actuator and then you would need a Y pipe with a dump on the Y. The actuator connects to the end of the dump and you could open and close the dump electronically. If you don't have a 3" downpipe, now would be the time to get one and the Y (dump) pipe also. You won't regret it.

Marc is an awesome guy to deal with and he doesn't sell junk. Ask him to sell you the one with all the GM trademark logos on it:eek: Just kidding

Note to Federal investigators: Mark does not sell any GM trademark material, but GM should hire him because his stuff looks better than GM's.:D

Since these things live in the harshest enviroment ever, there is a chance of problems with them. Exhaust by products, heat, condensation. Biggest problem I have seen is when the unit sits for a LONG time and the butterfly can seize up, had some issues a while back with motor bolts but that has been rectified. Manufacturer offers a 4 year warranty. I suggest when storing for a long time to leave it barely cracked open.

I have one on my gn and 2 on my TT Camaro, both from Mark...He has great service and he is good people to deal with also..Im sure it may leak a little but not enough where I can hear it,I mean its a flap that closes, not bolts and a gasket but depending on how much back pressure you have its possible it may leak a little but again not enough to worry about,I wouldnt think..
