I'm building an '87....Olds....<looks around while ducking> and will be running a 425cid big block using either a slightly modified Buick gas tank or combination of a Buick/Olds gas tank with a Walbro 340 pump.
I guess the question I have is, are you guys that are in the 500-600HP (flywheel HP) running the stock 3/8's feed line or larger? Are there any adverse effects of running a larger feed line, say like 1/2", with the in-tank pump? Would it push as much fuel as it would with the 3/8" line or would the pressure drop off with the larger line?
Will the Walbro 340 work for a 500-600HP engine? I'm shooting for 550HP but realistically, am only expecting something in the 475-500HP range.
Of course, it will be converted to a multipoint EFI setup with 1000cfm throttle body, fuel pressure regulator with return line, etc.
What if nitrous is thrown into the mix? I was playing with the idea of a 100-150HP shot.
This isn't a drag car but more of a street/auto-x/road race weekend fun toy.
Thanks for any and all help,
