I’m seriously considering purchasing a F.A.S.T. System with individual cylinder fuel/spark control.

Is there a convenient way to data log six EGTs (one per cylinder)? Or better yet a way to data log the 6 EGTs along with the F.A.S.T data logging? Or that failing, at least log the EGTs simultaneously with an rpm signal?

The FAST does not have EGT inputs or logging.

There are standalone units to monitor multiple EGT's, last time I checked they were about $1,000. (But $1,000 is usually cheaper than rebuilding a blown motor!)

My memory was too hazy so I just checked at www.omega.com. They have a little 8 channel thermocouple interface that plugs into the parallel port on a pc, with software for data logging under windows and drivers to write your own. They've raised the price in the last couple of years - it's now $199 plus $35 for a little board with a terminal strip to make cabling easier if you don't want to wire up your own db25 connector. Used to be more like $150 total. It's called the omk-tda8, see details at http://www.omega.com/ppt/pptsc.asp?ref=OMKTDA&Nav=dasc01 and manual at http://www.omega.com/DAS/pdf/OMKTDA.pdf They claim one sample on every channel every 20 milliseconds if you have faster than a 486 pc, which is way faster than most thermocouples.
