Unfortunately I did not get back to back tests because my laptop started crapping out the day we swapped the V1 in.
THIS IS NOT GOING TO TURN INTO A SH!T SLINGING FEST. THIS IS NOT INTENDED TO DENIGRATE ANYONE. When I got my previous intercooler there were basically 2 options and was one of the best out there. As we know, as these cars get faster, products are developed as demands of performance get greater. Jack knows this. If there was no need to continually improve his product he would not have redesigned his intercooler. Jack has been a great vendor to me and I have nothing to say bad about him. This is not a jab at him. It's just that Lonnie asked me if I would be interested in testing his intercooler, if I like it then fine. If I don't then I can return it. Safe proposition that I was happy to accept. And quite an act of faith on Lonnie's part since he does not know me (good guy BTW).
SO, these are the numbers so far. I am still getting the car ironed out since I put it back together. Unfortunately it seems to have slowed down (not intercooler related). I am thinking I don't have enough valvespring pressure, if not it is because of the combo changes. To be determined. So, no valid performance numbers since the car seems to nose off above 5800 RPM. Also increasing the boost from 25 to 27 psi yielded zero gains. But was a good indication of what the intercooler will do at that boost level.
Old intercooler:
85>140 23 psi 55* rise
86>152 27 psi 66* rise
85>152 27 psi 67* rise
V1 (different day, higher temps)
99>126 25 psi 27* rise
97>125 25 psi 28* rise
93>129 27 psi 36* rise
I will get continue testing to compare performance difference (or potential of) if any when I get the valvesprings.
