I am installing a couple gauges and planned on using the LPS slot in the fuse box so the gauges dim with the lights. Should I put an inline fuse inbetween? I have a package of 4A fast-acting fuses that were used for the power to the gauges.

It is already fused,at the fuse box,but you can add one just for the new gauge lights.

Pardon my ignorance but... :)

It is already fused at the box even if there is no fuse in the box at that location? I was planning on going in the front of the box with a spade connector where the fuse would normally plug in.

I guess the same goes for the positive for the gauges. It will go to the IGN slot where the fuse would normally plug in. This one has a 4A fast acting in-line fuse as recommended by Autometer.

The spots are not for fuses but they are for auxiliary plugs....the ign is fused by a fuse in box already 10a fuse think...the illumination is fused by a 5a fuse ...

Cool thanks Gary!

I am snapping pictures along the way, hopefully I will be able to make a little write up for the electrical forum.

Gary, meant to ask you had mentioned in a PM to use an uninsulated male spade connecter. All the stuff I saw at my local ACE Hardware was insulated. Any downside to using these instead?

Insulated terminals wont fit...there an easy solution...grasp terminal with needle nose pliers and pull out..then crimp and use as normal.

I'm not sure it would fit in the LMP terminal but PICO makes a GM Ign Cavity tap and a GM Battery cavity tap. Designed to fit slots and lock in place
