I need some one to point me in the right direction. I pulled the cluster out to mess with my speedo cable because of the bouncing needle. Put it all back together and now when I build boost past 5psi it falls flat and will not go any more.

Has anyone ever seen this before?

That doesnt sound good lol, I was just about to remove my cluster as well. My speedo needle does the same exact thing. Glad I seen this before I did, hope you figure it out brother.

I had that happen once on a boosted CRX i had years ago, the C clip on my wastegate actuator rod came off and wouldn't build past 2-3 psi. I'm sure you already checked that but just a thought.

Unrelated problems. The dash has no control over actual boost or running conditions. Have you got any non stock stuff running to that general area? Like some internal boost control devices?

Actually I just had this same problem with installing my TE44. I had to rotate te compressor housing on the turbo to get my silicone coupler from the intercooler to make a good seal because it wouldnt reach. I had a very small leak of air there and it wouldnt build much boost at all and just make a hissing noise at blow off.

I then rotated the cover and the coupler fit better. Tightened the clamps down and was back in business.

Well took it apart and checked all the connections for the 4th time and all the connections look good. Reconnected the cluster and took it for a drive. It works now. Not really sure what I did wrong.

The speedo needle still jumps around a lot. I guess it's time to find someone who can rebuilt it for me.

For the next little while check that the light comes on before driving. I had the same issue and noticed on my laptop the car wasn't charging right away. If the electronics and fuel pump don't get enough voltage she could cause some bad problems.

Brandon!

I have never noticed that the volt light worked. I read the article and I have the light socket with the resister built in. Tomorrow I am going to pull the dash apart one more time and change out the bulb. I noticed it had a white cap on the socket and did not think much about it.

When capers or kirban does the 145mph overlay do they fix anything in the speedo like bearings? If I can send it off and get it done for $130 and it will fix the jumping of the needle and give me a 145mph speedo I am sold on it.

If you just have the speedometer issue I read that a bouncing one can be fixed by lubing the lower speedometer cable that attaches to the speed sensor. I just found out from a buddy that new someone that did that and fixed theirs.

I believe the light socket with the white cap has a diode soldered. I believe it will still charge if the bulb burns out.

I think you are referring to a gnx dash. For a stock dash I think you lube the cable where it attaches to the speedometer head.

Oh ok I didnt know that , I was doing some research before i get into trying to fix mine lol. Thank You for the correction Sir !
