The project GN I purchased last year came with a bunch of extra parts one of them being a FMIC Spearco intercooler from the 84-85 hotair conversion kit. Im planning on a 4.1L Budget Build so my question is, will this intercooler be sufficient? I am still debating on which turbo to run.

Below is a pic from another thread but same intercooler

That's a cute little IC.

Should work fine I would think, unless you want to go with a larger core. Take a look at the RJC FMIC's if you want to see how large of a core can be fit.

Looks like I will more than likely stick with this intercooler, can these be hot tanked to be cleaned?

Do you need to just clean the interior or is the outside showing some weathering & corrosion?

The interior clean is fairly easy. Just follow the "Spring Cleaning" guide. I had one with lots of oil inside. I used about a 1/2 gallon of gas & rock & rolled the whole thing many times than emptied it. I then flushed it with water for a good while. Then I poured a bottle of rubbing alcohol inside & rock & rolled it some more. The alcohol takes care of the water. I then let it drain while I had a hair dryer blowing into one side. After a while I swapped the dryer to the other side & repeat until it was thouroughly warm. Using gas may seem a bit primitive to some, but it works.

That sounds pretty thorough I'll give it a shot!
What would you recommend to freshen up exterior, it's weathered pretty good!

I would clean with a degreaser, brake clean it and paint satin black:DThat looks like an old kenne Bell intercooler
