OK so here’s the deal. I recently acquired a very, very nice set of 1986 Gray buckets and rear seat. The material is very soft, colors are right (No sun fade) they have been in storage for the last 15 years. The guy I bought them from changed the car over to a race car back in the 90’s. The drives seat was on a PW seat rail, so there is a small hole where the power stuff was. I think this is perfect for someone looking for original material, since it’s not made anymore.

Second, My 87 T in gray has an OK interior, somewhat sun faded, but nice for it’s age. The drives seat shows the most ware. I was cleaning it and sliced through the drives seat back and luckily found another cover here. It was for the pass side, so two small holes have been repaired. Recently a small tear has developed in the bottom of the drivers seat! Which prompted me to look for a fix, which I did listed above.

The plan was to take the 86 seats and put them in the 87, sell 87 set. However, thought I’d throw this out in case someone is looking for 86 correct stuff. Anyone interested? I need VG 87 seat covers or a replacement set. My goal is to end up with a nice interior one way or the other. I really do not care about original material.

Thanks

I'll put up some pictures if this thread shows any interest.

Here you go. There are two small spots on the drivers seat piping, but other than that this is really nice.

I'm not looking for money, what I need is a good set of replacement covers or what I was hoping to find was someone with 87's that needed 86's.

The back seat and pass seat is perfect. The two little spots on the piping on the drivers seat is the only bad part.

These would be nice for a resto. I can send you high resolution pictures, just PM me your email.

I don't have any 87' seatcovers but would like to get the 86' seatcovers you have for my 86' T Type I'm doing?? Would you sell them? Please let me know asap. Thanks for your time.

I'd sell them, however, I need enough to buy new ones. The replacement covers are not like the original, that material is long gone. What are you thinking about spending. I guess the big question do you have to have original material. If yes, then these are the ones you want. Where are you located? I really don't want to be stuck with uncovered seats:confused:

PM me what your thinking.

86 front and rear seat

I'm also interested in purchasing the complete front seats and rear grey seats for the 86 t type Please let me know if your havent got any offers on the seats.I'm live outside of Chicago and would drive up this weekend if your available

Guys, The only way I can get rid of this really nice 86 set is if I can either get enough for them to buy a replacement set or someone has a 87 set to trade.

I can't live with what is in my car. I just confirmed that the 86 material is no longer available.

A set from Jax is $750.00 that is with similar material. They also have budget seat covers for $475.00. Price is shipped.

So look alike are $725.00 and $450 gets you one type of material. $25.00 shipping.

I will let this 86 original set go for $450.00 so I can get the budget covers. Again, I'd prefer to trade, original for original.

For the $450, you get the seats already covered and ready to install. I can't think of any other way to do this, except I just use the 86 seats in my 87.

Jax said they wouldn't sell my original 86 set for less than $600:eek:

Open to ideas.

Thanks

Eh, oh well. I got some really nice 86 buckets that will still look way nicer than the trashed originals
