So here is the deal... I started with an complete 85 GN. During the body off resto, i used a mix of wh1 and GN goodies...the break down is as follows:

85 GN front clip
GN tranny
GN rear axle
GN wheels
GN interior (dash and all)

85 WH1 - body
wh1 frame

86/87 motor

The car is painted as a WH1.

I have VIN and Title for both... thought i would see what people's opinions were on whether they would classify it as an 85 WH1 or 85 GN? or just a mutt like i think it is... :)

Thanks for the reply...I probably title it as the GN, as that title is in my name, already...but to keep the conversation going, at what theoretical point does one car become another if you have two VINS? Now that I will have a WH1 title and VIN and if I slap that on another T-type...paint it WH1 style..is that now a WH1? :D or better yet...what i slap that title an vin in a plain Regal, and put a turbo drivetrain in it? is it a plain regal with a turbo drivetrain or a rebuilt WH1....

The VIN should NOT be removed from the body, as this is called "tagging" a vehicle. And, thaught you should know is illegal.

Interesting....so you are suggesting it is the shell of the vehicle that dictates what the car is?? The VIN must stay with the vehicle? I don't actually plan on "tagging" a vehicle to misrepresent it, I was just curious and as to when one car actually becomes another...

So if you were fixing rust (like i was) on my 85 GN, and bought a new shell that was a plain jane regal, legally the GN is now a plain jane regal? just curious and making conversation...
