I am starting to feel that I may have gotten more than I needed. I just took delivery of a new 6765 and went with this beauty because I don't want to be on here a year from now saying, "What should I upgrade to?" I have a stockblock WE4 with almost 100k on it. List of upgrades and eventual upgrades:
Prec. SLIC
3.5" DP
60 lb. moto's
scanmaster-new version
3.5 LS1 Maf
maf translator (could upgrade to MAF GenII)
Tinman CA
Pat's L/U 3200
RJC Power plate
wbo2
TurboTweak chip

I assume Ball Bearing? I think you will be ok. My buddy had the journal beaing 6776 on a stock motored car and it was very sluggish on the street. But if you have a BB version it should be fine.

really dont think youll have a problem with that turbo, you have enough airflow mods it should work fine. BTW, sometimes a little lag is a good thing, especially onthe street

I have a GT67P set at 24lbs with 60's, Alky and a 3600 stall with a stock unopened motor. You would swear you were driving a stocker , well until you hammer it anyway. Very streetable and easy to drive. I would say you will be fine with that turbo, especially looking at your mods. With the ball bearing version, and a 3200 stall , lag will be minimal if any.

I think you have the right turbo. One that will work fine now with the parts you have and one that will alow you to go much faster too

Looks pretty good, if it doesn't spool well with a good tune you could help spool up with a manual boost controller and a 70mm throttle body and plenum.

Or put on some massive cfm heads and ported intake and really watch it spool up. ;)

I think you got really carried away. You should just sell it right away (for $800) before you put it on before I lose the willingness to take it off your hands.

J/K, my brother has been trying to talk me into the smaller 6162 but I'm thinking you made a good choice. Have fun with it!

Congratulations on a great turbo! Give us an update when you get it on the road!

IMO its not ideal for your combo and $ could have been spent on alky, and a smaller journal bearing turbo like a 3255 which would net you more bang for the buck and the same power potential on a stock shortblock. If you paid $800 for a nearly new 3255 you still would get $600 for it after a year. Only a $200 difference. You will need heads and cam to make the 6765 really shine and at that point you will be pushing the stock bottom end pretty hard. On a stock headed and cammed car the 6765 will need to be at 27-32psi to make peak power.

A 70 mm TB on a stock cammed 231 ci engine flows about 2x more cfm than the engine will ever use:eek: . To increase spoolup id lean out the transition fueling. He shouldnt have any problems with the converter he has though.

You shouldn't have any issues at all with that stall.

My WE4 has about all the same stuff on your list includig a 3200 stall Protorque converter and a DBBGT70. :p

Slap it on there and drive it. :)

DIY alky. and crank it up to 25psi.

Skip the 3.5" downpipe and put on a 3".

Save the extra cash for some heads someday.

Certainly doing other mods would maximize the high end available from this turbo but he is purposely buying a turbo to grow into. No since buying a small turbo then doing the heads/cam. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I totally missed the word eventual the first time. You better have all of that list done before bolting that 6765 on there. That list is what you need to have to make it work. You should have a different list of eventual upgrades to really maximize the use of your new oversized air pump.;)

i have the same turbo- mostly stock with mods in my sig

i asked the 6776 guts what they ran for mods and the transmission guys what stall to use-

my pts 9x11 3200 l/u will be the saving grace on spool up until i get the race motor in

im currently waiting for the waste gate hole to be ported to match my atr external gated down pipe

2tonewe4,that's alot of turbo for the stock motor,i agree with bison, but look at it this way you have it.run it, see if you like it for your style of driving, worse case scenario sell it privately, just be carefull before you crank it up on boost, that's alot of turbo.
