Ok fellas, need some outside opinions, would an atr up pipe be beneficial enough to my combo to merit the cost? tia

I am sure it would be definately worth it. There was a thread a few days ago similar to this. The ATR is larger than stock, and is mandrel bent unlike the stocker which has ripples in the bends and such. The stocker isn't conducive to high velocity flow which will spool up your turbo faster like the ATR. I would say its money well spent. Thats my .02 cents...

yeah, i am still kinda wondering if the atr up pipe is 2.25 or 2.5 from the other thread. My main concern with this was that the car will be driven primarily on the street and i wonder if the spool will be noticably slower.

I would think that the ATR piece would provide a quicker spool and better response than the stocker. I would say the stocker restricts too much flow and causes the air flow to be turbulent and thereby reducing air flow velocity. The ATR is 2.25, almost postive, and although it increases the volume, the velocity is most likely higher than that of a stocker due to the mandrel bends

The ATR up pipe was the only mod i had on my 85 GN for a while (cuz the stocker was leaking).....and it certainly helped. I wouldn't worry about it causing too slow of spool, especially with the TA33.
