Man I just can't seem to catch a break. First I had to buy a complete motor for my 87 GN, and then shortly after getting my new motor put in my car, the turbo went out and I had to get it rebuilt.
Now I believe that my transmission is going out on me. I was driving it this evening, and when I changed lanes to pass somebody, I pushed on the gas and the car didn't go anywhere. I pulled off of the freeway, and decided to go back home. While driving home, the car would not switch gears. I would push on the gas, and the rpm's would rise, but the car wouldn't shift into the next gear. I can go in reverse, and I got the car up to about 45 mph, but it kept trying to switch gears with no success.
I am assuming that this is a clear sign of a bad transmission?
I hope this made sense, and I would appreciate any insight that you guys can give me regarding this situation.
Thanks.
