Is there a Dynomax that replaces ATR crossflow muffler?

I have the ATR 3" single to dual "crossflow" system. I love the sound of it, however, I may be moving to a townhome community that would NOT love the sound of it (argh ) So, I was thinking the best solution would be to replace the Pitbull with a quieter performance muffler and run a dump with an electronic opener switch for when I want to get obnoxious or I'm racing. From what I hear, Dynomax would be the way to go. I was wondering though, since the crossflow muffler is pretty non standard looking, with it's "in's and out's", is there a Dynomax that I could unbolt the Pirbull and pop on the Dynomax?

According to my (old) data the Dynomax 17227 is close,

it's a 3" in and dual 2.5" out in that odd configuration
(actually that's an F-Body type setup)

You also might check Magnaflow, it's a similar style muffler.

Other guys have put a second muff under the car like the single shot system.

Let us know how it turns out.

Hmm, yeah I guess I could put a second muffler after the dump/straight pipe but before the crossover muffler. But, that would involve cutting and clamping and whatnot... Seems like it'd be easier to find a plug and play quieter unit than the Pitbull. Of course it would be even easier to say screw my neighbors....they should enjoy the TR sound anyway Only a slim shot I'm moving there in the first place.

I went for a Borla 16" Sportsman, in the spot that Bob said, #40944 in Summit's Cat. I also ordered two stainless straps.

I didn't think that anyone would have a muffler to fit within the close tolerances of the Pit Bull, so I didn't mess with it. Especially since I wanted to retain the 3" OUT pipes.

I just measured carefully and used my compressor- powered cutting wheel. It was easier than I thought it would be. I don't think it took much more than an hour. Maybe that's because everythilng went as planned...for once.

The exterior sound is way nicer! IMO

Oh crap! Yeah, I didn't think about the out size (although it was stated right above!). I definitely want to keep my 3" outs... man, the pickings might be slim. I guess it's another muffler inline. Or hell, I just won't move!

Are you saying that you put this in place where the cat was ,that is where Bob was refering ot right..or did you cut the old pitbull out of the tank location and install the Borla,,sorry I am confused...

but NOT replacing the Pitbull I think he means. So it'd be like: cat/straight-pipe/dump (whatever you have) ----- auxilliary muffler (Borla, Magnaflow, etc) ----- Pitbull ---- tips

correct me if I'm wrong.

Does the secondary muffler butt right up to the dump/cat flange or is there pipe after the flange.... and the muffler slides in a clamps there?

Where TurboBob said! It's the pipe after the flange, then the cuts are made. Make sure you leave enough pipe for the muffler to slide onto on each side.

The only cut I can sort of remember is: from the inside apex of the first curve after the front flange. I'm pretty sure that it was 18". If you take a look at it you'll understand what I mean.

The muffler is a perfect fit.

I wonder how this Dynomax would work instead of that Borla (it's half the price) Summit part # WLK-17220. It's 19" vs 16" for the Borla. They also have an ultraflow one like that but it's 21" and almost the price of the Borla.

I measured for how I felt I could complete the project with everything fitting EASILY and not banging or touching anything.

All I can tell you is to get under it and see what works for you. 19" might fit, but 21" could be pressing it.
