One of my paint expert buddies told me that Astros are more or less copies of the more exprensive Binks and Devilbiss guns. I have an old Astro touch up gun that I've been using for the past 25 years. When I needed new tips and caps the Binks parts fit perfectly on it. I'm still trying to get used to my HVLP guns. I guess I've been "old school" for to long.

If it was me I'd pay some one to do the paint on the TTA. You're first paint job should be on your DD, not your best car. Crappy paint will just devalue it IMO. Not to mention a waste of time and money. Paint aint cheap anymore.

Home paint jobs .... a huge no no. Today's paints are not cheap!!!!!!!
I do this for a living with the best products and down draft booth with bake.

To go back and shoot a car in a garage with limited light and novice skills and

off brand paint gun.. You'd be money ahead to have it done right. If you pick

cheap paint you'll pay for it 3X's over stripping the junk back off.

You'll want a shop that has a down draft booth and a experienced painter

that uses good products. IE: Sikkens,PPG,Ect...

Prep is 90% of the work. If it's not prep'd right it won't look good or last.

Anyone can wet sand their way to a decent job...

This car is not buffed. It's the way I sprayed it.

If you need any help/advice e-mail me anytime UR50SLO@aol.com

It's a GN powered 87 LX Mustang. :)

Nice Job. Looks Like a candy color. what brand of paint did you use?
Your car is an example of what can be done.

Also too many guys sand and buff too soon. Paint flashes.
Give it time to set up once on. Shot my White limited. Let it sit for a good month. Extreme yes. Paint was great. spent a lot of time removing all glass,an limited pieces. Was worth it.Almost doesn't need sanding....HTH"ed
