I got a new auto meter ultra lite boost gauge yesterday, and when I opened it it was reading about 14 lbs. I had my g/f suck on it;) and it went down to 10 lbs. Are these adjustable in any way? Or do I need to send it back? Its a 2 1/16 0 to 30 psi, no vacuum. Thanks

That one, you'll want to send back. Not sure why, but sounds like it's reading atmospheric pressure. Not the norm.

Have your g/f suck on the gauge some more:D I've had nothing but trouble with autometer boost gauges. I switched to a company defi that makes a awesome guage. A little more money but worth it.

I got a vdo, sitting here, old but its cheap and accurate $20

VDO's aren't accurate or linear, well the three that I tested weren't. Off as much as 2.5 psi. on the big end. :(

My Autometer vac/boost gauge was off a half a pound and linear the whole range, using a calbrated professional Omega gauge.

Just my take on them.

Its brand new, so I'll just exchange it for a new one. I noticed Bob Slusser and Walt Judy using these massive boost gauges at the midwest challenge, looked like they had clocks on the dash! I asked Bobby about them, he said they were easier to read and more accurate. I have made many passes where I've forgotten to look at the boost gauge. I just watch for knock, and try to glance at the gauge. I thought about getting one of those massive gauges, but it looks a little crazy for a street car. I have a vdo now, and never really questioned it, but after a couple dyno pulls, my felpro and my gauge don't jive on what boost is set at. My gauge is over 3 years old, so I just figured the auto meter would be more accurate.
