It's got 84 85 wheels, 84 85 engine and an 87 vin, definitely a steer clear of this one

Or read the ad and know what you're buying. Also Ohio decided there is no way it can be actual miles and branded the title miles over.

It's not false advertising because everything is clearly explained in the ad. To me everything looks ok (correct 1987 serial #, correct '87 grille, interior and by looking at the way the non-connected heater lined are pointing straight into the turbo just confirms that it does have an '85 engine (which is clearly stated in the ad) but the car definitely is an '87.)
I guess it would just be a matter of reinstalling an '87 engine in it and everything would be fine. Mileage may be high buy hey…it's a 28 years old car so anything is possible...Also the wheels can always be changed…

Not false advertising that i can see,he explains what the car is and what the buyer will be getting. But bad judgement in the way he built the car in my opinion. But if thats what he wanted to do congrats to him it turned out pretty good.

I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Here is his youtube video of the car.

maybe he liked the older wheels better- could be a Dukes of Hazzard fan or something- and had a hot air engine on hand and ready to go when the stock 87 one blew up...

the only thing that would concern me is the lack of an oil pan...

Notice the fresh paint on the VIN tag...AIRC, all the tags were black. Y/N??
I have 2.. An 87 Turbo T, {dk blu w/ grey interior}, and an 86 T Type, blackout car, gray leather}. Both have black VIN tags..

It's an 87 vin on a 84/85 HA car. Do not want.

i'm far from being an expert on these cars compared to some around here, but a quick look at the pics shows me a couple of small details that make me believe this is an 86 or 87 GN and not an 84 or 85- details that someone doing a quick VIN swap would most likely overlook... see if you can figure out what they are..

Who would put a HA engine (with a/c) into an 87 GN? Usually it's the other way around...

I mean if it can be bought for less than 5k its a good driver. I'd rock a hot air!

Looks like a 86-87 intake. So it is like someone put a hot air turbo system on a 87 and I wonder what the angle of turbo outlet is.
