is this rear end any good

I can get a rear 10 bolt 8.5 from a 1988 s10 pick up ,limited slip ,from a freind for $200,my Project Regal has a 7.5 rear non posi,would this be a good up grade for a 700hp car,just looking for a starting donor rear and can beef it up later...what do you think..its got to be better than the 7.5 ,but how does it compare to the GN rear

it is pretty much the same differential, but there is no upper or lower control arm mounts like the regals, (blazers astros, jimmy's have a leaf springs) so there lies a problem. most have the same 3:42 gears in them as the regals.
