well i guess i started my winter mods. since my turbo went out when i was up at the WCN i decided to try and fix a few oil leaks. i pull the intake off and re-sealed it and pull the oil pan off and got a new RJC deep sump pan coming. i also ordered the arp front cover/water pump bolts from rjc as well. i pulled the drive shaft and cross member and cross over pipe. im going to pull the tranny tuesday. o while the intake was off i did some more work to it as it was almost gasket matched but it needed some more work. did about a hour or so of work on it and its good to go. i would have done the heads but i want to get to the 11's with out heads first. o also pulled both valve covers, thermostat housing, alternator bracket and some L brakets and intake to alt bracket, and the turbo mounting bracket and im taking them to get power coated tomorrow.

Delayed flights SUCK!!!

Well crap! I'm basically just getting started compared to you guys. Most of the stuff I've done this year has just been restoration. The car was completely stock when I got it, and had been sitting in a garage for years, driveing it home to my garage first time reminded me of the movie Christine, missing and studdering on its last breath. But after new plugs, wires, fluids, filters, vac hoses, etc., it woke up and ran great. I'm running stock boost and 87 chip. So I doubt its any faster than when it was new, possibly a little bit quicker because of the poston headers and hot-wired walbro 340 and aftermarket exhaust. From a complete stop (no powerbraking) it will lunge modestly, but takes up to 2, sometimes 3 seconds till it will light up the tires and pull away hard (wore out stock turbo). I think its pretty impresive power for what it is. All my cyl's are holding good compression, so I think i've got something good to work with until I get a good grip on tuneing, and get all the bolt-on stuff and mods gathered up before I pull the engine and rebuild it strong (possibly winter of 07). I'm almost finished with my f bod rad and ramcharger install. Their still in the box waiting to go on. I'm waiting for my oil cooler and trans cooler to arrive. My poston crossover should arrive today. I'm going to change oil pan gasket and rear main, and do some cleaning and detailing while I'm under there. Then I'll order the adj fuel reg and a chip from turbo tweak and away I go. :) High 12's with alky is my goal. The car will never have a air/air innercooler(and yes,I've threw the idea around a few times). i just got a used hot air manifold in that I'll be using to port and match. (Looks like it may be a differant part # though, I can find one differance from what i've got on the car, I'll post questions on this sometime soon probably). I'm saving for a t-33 and looking for a 2 1/2 or 3" dp.
I've got some crappy cell phone pics on my laptop I had just taken yesterday that I'll attach. A couple things I've done that I think is neat is I picked up a upper pulley from a pre 81 231 buick that only has the 2 grooves. That way there isn't the 3'rd groove that isn't used from the factory. Adding the electric fan means losing my shroud and the huge emission/vac hose label that sticks to it. So I took detailed pics and some dimensions and sent them off to a guy that sells the 87 labels, and had him make it the same dimensions as the 87 so I could put it on the a/c box like the 86/87s are from the factory. Gives it a stock look, and I've still got all my vac hose info at a close glance. Notice the "storm trooper cold-air intake" Properly named and copywrited by 6sense.:)

You all ready have a GOOD basis. With What I see on the pix. You could afford to turn the BOOST up. Most STOCK Hot Airs gauge between 9-12lbs of BOOST... unlike the 86-87's (Mine was set to 9lbs from factory). You have a high flow MAF and a cold air system. I am not sure what chip you have, but I you have a gauge I would turn it up to 17lbs. I would keep it under 20lbs, until you change exhaust and downpipe. I would raise fuel up to 42lbs. and 17-18lbs boost and HOLD ON!!!!!
