I've narrowed it down to a few cars!! HELP ME OUT

Hey guys... finally got all of my money together!! This week I'm going to buy a 87 GN. There are a few I've decided on but I need yalls help on this. All of them are MINT inside and outside and have less than 50 K miles. Only problem is all of them are modded which i wanted but i'm hesitant to buy them in fear that they've had a bad boost situation or a loose gasket etc and havent been tuned properly and might have damage i dont know about!! This car is going to be my daily driver and a few of them have the TE-44 and another has the 61 turbo which i think would generate too much lag?? RIGHT?? The other has a stock turbo, but I'm looking for a lil faster ride than that. Unfortunaltey all of them are out of state , but i'm willing to fly wherever. I'm not willing to spend over 13 K...... am i Safe buying a modded GN?? Any suggestions or potential questions other than the norm I might need to ask over the phone before making a deal?? I would buy modded, you save money that way, but make
sure they have recepts on everything.

i used to want a stock one so i could build it myself. i was dumb i shoulda got one already modded. get someone who knows the cars well if you dont to look at it with you and get all records on it. test drive it like you will drive it. see what the boost is set at and if its too much for their mods i would inquire about it i.e. 22 psi w/stock fuel pump and no scanmaster. IMO also listen for weird sounds from the engine and tranny while driving it
