wow.... so you goin to insure stuff like that now or just play the game and cry when ya get burned  Ill never understand why someone like yourself that wouldn't insure a $300 order  Hope ya don't get burned as bad the next time !

Well old wise one, sometimes you just try to trust people. 10 years of doing this and have been burned twice now. First time was years ago for about $100. This was a lot more considering what it costs to buy the parts to make up the order. Not again. Wish I was perfect, how do YOU do it???

ya Mark I do insure everything I send out. It does suck to "waste" that $$$ !!! It kills me to insure THEM not to loose or damage my junk I ship !! Guess its part of the game.. Damm if ya do an damm if ya don't !!

Is insurance really the answer? The shipping companies have everyone bent over on the so called insurance they provide....ya gotta really read the fine print otherwise they just got your $$$, and you got left holding the bag.

It's truly a shame that we have scumbags take advantage of good people and work the system cause they are too damn lazy to work for the items they would like.

I'm guilty as one who ships everything to my work address, but I know it won't get ripped off sitting in front of my house waiting for me to get home.

I think Bison was on to something about verifing addresses. Paypal won't show you as a verified person until you answer the question that they send you in the mail, could that be a possibility to protect the vendors that help us keep these vehicles going?

Anyhow, Mark...I hope you get some resolution.

Steve

I live 5 miles from that address and Mike Dopkins asked me to look into this for you:cool: Ive just been to busy to go over to the address and check it out. I will try to go by there this weekend and at least look for a Buick and knock on the door..Will you pay my bail if i choke him for you LOL

Thanks Geno,
Hope you come up with something for Mark. Yes I'll pay your Bail as I know you, you WOULD and COULD do IT !!!!!!

If the PO lost it, then why wont the guy answer his phone or e-mails?
Something is fishy for sure!

I'll pay your bail but want pics of the guy and his real name   Like I said before this is a perfect storm of a transaction. Thanks to the post office I don't even have any proof they were delivered. After swearing at the damn voice mail choices at the post office finally got a hold of a real person but he wasn't much more help than the voice deal. Says someone will get back to me within 24 hours. Right! Called the persons actually post office but only got an answering machine. How do you lose TWO boxes shipped to the same address. Hey! Maybe the guy works at the post office too!

Wish it wasn't so far away as I always enjoy a road trip. Can't get much farther away from CT though I did just ship some stuff up to Alaska.:)

well next time at lease do a "Delivery Confirmation".. Its $1.50 . You won't get ins $$$ because ya don't think its necessary but it can tell ya where it went. Trace it on your computer from what I remember.

I do delivery confirmation on EVERYTHING I ship but it only is good as the mail man. If he doesn't scan it in as delivered it doesn't show up.

At least for $3 insurance you get your $300 back so just add it to the shipping costs for the buyer.

mark,
i work for fed-ex ground. we physically can't deliver a "direct sign" package unless we get a signature from the recipient. and it's almost impossible to deliver any package without scanning it. and yes u can check the progress of your package thru the system, it is updated like every 15 minutes. (very accurate) more so than the post office. by the way i'm the guy that u sent the aluminum "big mouth" tube to that got smashed in shipping, thanks UPS  thanks again

Geno, at this point I will just be happy to get this loser's real name and expose him for lowlife he is.

Got the affadavit from the credit card company that the person whose credit card number was stolen and doesn't look like Gertrude Musaindapo has anything to do with "John Martin". Don't have a leg to stand on as far as that goes. The post office just adds insult to injury by not being able to tell me if the two packages were indeed delivered or not. Never got a call back from them as promised about the investigation into where they went.

Also got an email from the police saying they don't normally handle crimes committed on ebay or craigslist!   Told them this has nothing to do with either. I am a business filing a complaint about someone using a stolen credit card!

Nothing unfolding except for my wallet. Hoping someone in the are can just uncover who this person really is. That's all I really want. Don't expect the police to do much about it and have resigned myself to that.
