I've successfully rented my Eastwood Fender Roller to many on this list with almost no issues...certainly none serious. That all ended when it went to Juan Cuadra. He severely bent the mounting hub on my tool, can only be done by using engine power to rotate the tool, and sometime later sent it on without even acknowledging what has happened. The tool is now damaged beyond repair. He initially advised a bolt head twisted off and then never again responded. I send this to you all as a warning to NOT do business with this character. Below is a timeline of PM's and emails fyi.

Please note that the tool was received by the next guy bent all to hell...yet Juan advises in his note that he was making his final pass when the bolt head broke off. Clear admittance that the tool was useable when he received it...and it was not when the next guy got it...no detective work needed to figure out exactly who is responsible for the damage. Very disappointing that a Turbo Buick guy would do this to another Turbo Buick guy.

13 Mar: I receive a PM from Juan advising he has received the tool.

23 Mar @ 10:55: I send Juan a PM advising of the shipping address for Bob, the next guy, when he is finished.

24 Mar @ 01:10: I get the following note from Juan...
"hey bob i had a problem with the fender roller, i was finishing up on the car on the final pass when i go to adjust the roller up.. when i went to tighten the bolt that secures the roller and the head of the bolt broke off. so i think to my self... ill just pull the bolt out and and go buy the same size bolt at the hardware store but i noticed that there is a piece welded on to the bolt on the inside part so im kinda stuck and dont know what to do. any suggestions"

24 Mar 08:53: I respond via PM with 3 suggestions on how to fix

27 Mar: I send Juan a PM asking for an update and left my phone number asking him to call me.

29 Mar: I send another PM to Juan asking how I can help, and requested his phone number so I could call him.

10 Apr: I receive an email, with pictures, from Bob "the next guy" advising he has received the tool with pictures showing severely bent mounting hub. He advised the tool is unusable. His words: "Completely non-functional & unsafe". Keep in mind that this is the 3rd time Bob has had this tool, each time before, for unrelated reasons, he was unable to use the tool and sent it on to the next guy. So I am 100% confident that the he received the tool in this condition.

10 Apr: I send email to Juan advising that I am very disappointed in what he has done. It is clear that he used engine power to rotate the tool as it was attached to his hub. Thought it cowardly for him just to send it on, and asked him how he suggested he should pay for this damage. No amount of muscles can bend that 1/2" thick piece of steel. I received it bent once before and an 8 ton hydraulic press would not move it...took a 20 ton press to straighten it.

13 Apr: I send my final PM to Juan asking if he is going to "man up" or "stay hidden".

I never got any kind of response after his 24 Mar PM advising the bolt head had broken off.

Tool rentals

Sorry to hear about the damage. Some people were raised to not care about others stuff even when they pay to use it. Sounds like a big deposit may be in order for future renters of tools. Money usually talks.

This guy disappeared off the site in April and never responded to me. He has resurfaced this month offering parts for sale.

If you get screwed you only have yourself to blame.

Thank you Bob for being a fellow enthusiast and allowing people to borrow your tools.

Thats is what cars are all about.

It is to sad that people have to abuse the privelage of someone loaning out tools.

I had a tool that I rented to fellow Buick members. But JCUADRA destroyed it and just sent it to the next renter without so much of a mention that it was damaged. You can see the timeline of events on my Feedback post. He disappeared in April, but is now back selling parts.

Bottom line is he damaged my fender roller beyond repair, never responded to my posts or PM's, and I had to buy a replacement.

He knows he destroyed it and he knows he hasn't responded. What kind of car guy does that??

My post was in support of what you do, I hope you didnt take it wrong.

Thanks Ty, I understood. I was actually responding to "it's just a six" one post ahead of you. Didn't think he understood what had taken place.

Thanks again.

I understand what happened, that's why I said sorry for your problem.
I just posted the tool ,just because it's on sale.
Sorry for posting it.

Thanks "just a six"...no need to be sorry for posting. Gave me another opportunity to explain what a **** bag JCUADRA is.

An update...1.5 years after destroying my fender tool and sending it to the next guy like nothing had happened 2 days ago I received a paypal payment of $240 from J Cuadra. I never have received any correspondace from Mr Cuadra and received none with the payment.

After my surprise wore off my first thought was to return 1/2 of this to Mr Cuadra because if he had fessed up back when he initially tore up the tool I would have been upset but I have broken stuff before too. And because the tool was much nearer the "worn out" side than the "new" side I would have asked for $75-100 in compensation to be fair. But thinking more about it I've decided to keep the entire amount. Partially to offset me returning the money to the next guy, and to pay for shipping from him back to me, and partially to "compensate" me for the 1.5 years your silence.

Mr Cuadra, I thank you for your payment and say that better late than never. And offer this advice in the future...communicate immediately with the other person and fess up to the truth. You may have done a stupid thing so be prepared to get some justified grief, but once that is past you will end up working together to make things right. In this case, you would have saved your name this embarrassment, and saved some $$$. Heck we've all made mistakes and we are car guys...so how upset can one car guy be at the other if he is being honest with you. Nothing infuriates people more than ignoring what you have done and then never ever even responding.

Again I commend and thank you for paying for the tool.

And if you want to rent it again get in touch with me and we'll get it out to you.

I will ask our Moderator to purge my comments from other postings and leave this one up for a few weeks and then purge it.

Regards, Bob Kolhouse

^ wow.. Mr. Cuadra... Glad to see you made things right even after this long

Dealt with Cuadra personally at his home for GN seats. Trouble free transaction. Odd to hear him be silent after 1.5 years. Who knows. Glad he paid you for it.
