A friend and I used to spend that each on fireworks. We would get a coupon from the outlet on the seacoast and we would go for a fireworks run. We had some pretty impressive displays!

Its just one of the fireworks shows in San Diego but thats all it takes. The New Years Eve fireworks show in San Diego Bay last year was cancelled because of this BS...many people were pissed off/disappointed. There was one couple that planned their wedding reception on New Years Eve because of the cool fireworks show....imagine their surprise when that wasn't happening.

Also, the local guy has 2 very large anvils. He puts toilet paper on 1, covers it w/ black powder, sets the 2nd on top,[w/ a tractor], and lites the paper..

DAMN!!!
We not only hear it, the powder smell is just like the "good old days", when the M-80's actually could take a mailbox out!

Ty your like me, the 4th of July is my favorite holiday and I also go all out for the kids and put on one hell of a show.. I used to be able to get 1/4 sticks back in the M-80 days and we would run the neighborhood and blow small tree's out of peoples yards! :biggrin: I would love to be able to get my hands on more of those 1/4 sticks, they were a complete BLAST! No pun intendend... :biggrin: Anyone know where I can get some?

Below is a picture of when the boy's were smaller, this was with just One of the 4 boxes we normally get. The boy's also get to have their own bag of goodies too!

Just got back from the firework tent myself and spent a quick $500, Wow that goes fast, even with a 20% discount! I bought a bunch of 3'' mortars that we will surely light up the heighborhood... :biggrin: Yes that means those are 3'' dia round tubes and 3'' dia mortars!!! :biggrin: LOVE LIVING IN THE SOUTH!!! Up North in Wis the cops would come for lighting off a bottle rocket!!! We get to have fun here!!
