Also some very good articles on creating a list of upgrades for the goals you want to meet.
Some of them are older articles but they are still very relevant and some will suprise you on how inexpensive they can be.
Some of the previous posts are very informative and provide some very good starting basics.

As for a 12 second honda I say that this is impressive for a brief case sized engine in an economy type car.
