No hangover here. ;) Just looking to inject so perspective into this discussion. My $30K offer is real. If someone has cash feel free to contact me. I have plenty of spare parts so bring the $$ and a truck. :) Where is Cruzn 57 when you need him?

Neal

(LOL) But if you sell all your stuff, will you be the buick professor still? :) This would be a good deal if someone wants this, but I have a feeling they would need a big truck and trailer:) Cruzn57, I think it is calling you, but your wife will kill you, just make sure I get adopted first. (lol):D

I'm not sure where to start this post, so I guess I'll just start rambleing. I'm 42 years young. In the last 30 of those years, I've Owned or built some really enjoyable cars. I've won a hand full of trophies, Been down the 1320' many times, in lots of cars. But, this black brick is by far the most challengeing, enjoyable, and satisfying toy I've ever owned. I remember as a kid, getting my first BB gun. I was so excited that first night I had it, that I fell asleep with it next to me under the covers (this was before I found out about girls;) ). I've still got the stupid gun in the garage some where. All covered in rust. I haven't seen it, or cared to, in at least ten years. Well now I've got this funny sounding black car. When ever I'm out in my garage working on it, or out smokin a few motor cycles on PCH on a nice day, it's just like being ten years old again, and opening that Crossman pump action rifle on Christmas morning. If someone would have offered me $30,000.00 for that gun on that morning, I would have laughed at them, and sent them on there way. This is kinda how I felt the other day when this guy offered me a lot of money for my Buick. Is my car worth 30k monetaraly speaking? Probably not. But the satisfaction is!!! Some day I may feel the same way about my GN as I do about my BB gun. That might be a better time to sell it than right now. I'm not sure. I know that you guys that have pushed the limits of these cars, and your selves in doing it know what I mean. And thanks all. I'm blown away by all the posts on this thread. I still havent decided if I'm going to sell or not. I'll let you guys know. Happy new year every one.

Sorry about the spelling.

PS: does any one want to buy a BB gun?

I know that is a hard one to think about

Initially, your like Heck Yeah, I will sell it, but you cant get a 13 sec car for under 30 to 35K, Plus it is BAD To the Bone. Yeah you could sell it and get 2 others, but how much work would you have to put into them.
I had a Guy in a BAD ASS V12 Mercedes Coupe tell me How nice my car was, I was like, "Sh-___t your the one in the nice car. He asked me did I want to sell it, and I know he could afford it, but I was like no wayyyyy. I told him they are on EBay all day. Hmmmmm then I think yeah I could have just got another, but This is like the Gun, and I know I would love to have a GTO and some other cars but you need BiG cash and Much more Mods, but they will not get up and GO and have the OH MY GOD its a GRAND National feeling that everyone says.
These cars are legends Still in the making.

Two things:

1. Egokiller is slow. :p j/k

2. Spoolfool2- I have seen your car and it is a masterpiece. It is what we all seek to emulate. I understand your BB gun theory but I have another take on this; if you'll indulge my nostalgic ramblings...

I got my first taste of Buick power at a stoplight in 1990-1991. I was in my Camaro and was crucified by what I later found out was a GN (that's another story)...

Eventually, I found my baby (1986 T-type) -(yet another story), and proceeded to have loads of fun. The car was "born angry". It was the meanest thing in town. And this was before internet, no tuning, nothing! (even more stories):D

Anyway, in 1996 the car was stolen while I was stationed overseas. It was like my guts had been torn out. When I came home all I wanted was another TR. I couldn't find one. So I settled for other cars, always thinking about the old Black Brick. In fact, there is a picture of her still in my office.

All these years later, I decided to reward myself and rekindle the flame. I found a basket case project in 2005, fixed it up and came in second place to you at Bates in 2006. (to me that is a huge feat as your car is as near to perfection as I have seen for a car that is actually driven) As of today I have 3 TR's .

So what's my point? Well, while I pine for my lost love and you may yours, take heart, there are many TR's in the sea my friend. Will the next one be the same as your first? Never. But you can take solace in knowing that you are proficient in Buickology and can handle any of the challenges a new TR project will bring you.

Selling for $30k won't make you rich but it will give you enough money to find a suitable project with enough funds to try something new. If nothing else, think of it this way; each car you build and put back on the street is one more that has been saved by the ravages of time and negligence. It's like you're a TR conservationist and are helping to bring them back from the brink of extinction. Just make sure you sell to someone who appreciates the car and not some idiot who's going to blow it up.

I personally would like to see many more of these cars rescued and back on the road as opposed to being crushed or parted out.

Just my two cents...

Yeah you are right, can you give me a tow in one of your many TB's, so I can be as fast as you, You Buick Horder, hehehheheehehhehe  if that is how you spell it.

"hoarder".

However, I prefer to be called a collector or connoisseur ;)

Hey Rich, if you see this post soon enough, give me a call. Going to a show with "Angry Black" today.

30K for GN

Spoolfool, what ever happen to the guy that made the offer on your car? Weird thing is that two days after you posted, a guys shows up over at our shop did the same thing on a 70 Cuda we had parked out on the side of the shop. The car was a customer's and NOT for sale, but the boss inadvertently thought he'd blow him off with a 35K price. Long story short. He shows up several days later with the money in a "Paper sack" and bought the damn thing! Why couldn't he have wanted the Buick? Anyway is there somthing going on with these car guys? Good luck on yours, hope he has or is going to show up. Ron

Ron and everyone

Well, it's been over a week and the guys a no-show. Maybe the refi hasnt gone through yet, or maybe the guy found another car. If he wanted it badly, I think he would have called by now. Still not sure what I would have done if this fat-cat showed up with a bag of loot. I guess it might depend on what kind of mood I was in. Oh well. for now I've still got the good ol Black Brick...

And my BB gun:biggrin: .

---------------------------Ron?:
Just how nice was this Cuda? There are Mopars worth a million, and there are Mopars worth, well, more than a dime. How about a little more info?

spool- do you know how many times people have 'offered' to buy my car for nice numbers too? Too many times to count. And guess what? Not ONE of them ever came thru. its BS..

Mornin Gary,
We had just completed a complete resto on it and was waiting to put a crate Hemi in it, I'm not a MoPar guy, so I don't know all the models. This was a first cabin car, but not worth that much! Didn't even have a turbo, so it couldn't have been worth much. LOL, Ron
What in the world is everybody doin up this early, there must be a half dozen people on this forum. I just got back from taking the wife to LAX, yuk!! Did have fun with a little mustang comin home though, jerk flipped me off when he came back by though. O'well, another one for the buick, yea! I'm hitting the hay for a half hour before I head to the shop, so good night ladies. Ron

Just Curious, Ron, as I am an ex Mopar guy, having owned 1st a '69 440 GTX, then a 340 Challenger TA, & then a '68 GTX with a 426 hemi in it. Mopars are ok, but it seems to me that once you have been to the dark side, you can never go back. I'm seeing what new on the TB.com Southwestern Section daily soap opera. Looks like the TB.com Southwestern Section version of the Hatfield & McCoys feud (Lou & Kevin) is temporarily laying low. Tune in later, I guess.
