Has anybody used these at all and if so what were your results? They were listed in the GSCA news letter and just thought I might ask.

IMO,they're a waste of money,a gimmick.I wouldn't trust them at all.I was looking at one yesterday and I wouldn't use it.A nice fresh Delco does it for me.

I have been using the AC Delco just thought I would ask. There was an oil filter comparison but the K&N was not on it. Any other input from anybody?

I think the discussion of which oil and oil filters to use is totally overdone. It's just a bunch of folks going on and on about their personal preferences, with no actual basis (these are not petroleum and filtration engineers, after all).

I really doubt there's much difference between any good synthetic and any good filter, especially at the rate we do oil changes.

I think the "Mopar filter study" done a few years ago was very informative and contained lots of good filter info. The guy is not a filter scientist, but lots of facts and common sense made for a very good study and results.

From what I can find out, the K&N is very similar to the Mobil One filter, both made by the same company. These are premium filters with stronger cases, synthetic media, not paper and a good sealing gasket.

For cruising around town with frequent filter changes, usually not a problem. For strip use with high RPM and oil pressures, a good filter is a MUST. Had a couple name brands blow out and balloon in the driveway on a stage motor GN.

Cut a few filters open and check what you have inside. Not just the trash if any, but the filter media. Have seen AC Delco and other entry level filters with collapsed cartridges. Will do no filtering like that.

Personally, I prefer to spend the extra $5-6 for a premium filter to help protect my motor, as well as for others.

Nick, Thank you for the info. Is there one you prefer over the others or just use what you can get or at the request of the customer?
