So we are working on getting info together to get the El Camino that Kenny was working on finished. Got a few questions for all the "knowledgeable" buick guys. I know enough to get by, but m horrible with parts and combos. So here's the deal. Got a stock motor that needs rebuilt anyways. Already have 60's and a 6152 turbo and a built Janis trans. What do you recommend for a bottom end? Heads? Cam? Girdle? Main caps? Hardware? Final goal is to run 10's reliabily forever :)

Very Happy to see you guys are getting started on the project. PLEASE make sure you post up some pictures  I think the you need to figure out if you plan to upgrade the car anymore in the feature. I know Kenny had talked about stepping up turbo wise sometime in the feature. He also had planned to do a stroker motor. If your only planning on a mid 10 or higher combo I would say keep the stock bottom end but put a girdle on it just for insurance. Heads I would just have ported unless your planning on going 9s there is no need for a set of the aluminum heads IMO. Cam wise anymore I can only recommend doing a roller cam they make WAY more power... longer rpm range... more reliable etc. Id recommend something like the 210/215 from Full Throttle Speed. Hardware wise I would just do head studs.... maybe upgrade the rod bolts if you worried about it but IMO thats not really needed unless you want to really push the stock block limit. Any more questions feel free to shoot me a pm or a email ttypewe4jim@comcast.net Ive done a few hybrid swaps before.

Oh and with the 6152 turbo and a decent set of ported stock heads, and a roller cam I would expect to be able run about 125 or so mph with a alky tune.

Jimmy
