Richie, got any vids of your car from the race at VMP?? If so please share them with us:)

You need to bring that pile down to the $20k outlaw race in Huntsville, Al. later this year. They will be running outlaw 10.5, limited street, 6.0 hu, 7.0 hu, pro mods and more..

I'd love to see the car run..

BTW, congrats on the win. A friend of mine (Jeff Cooner) drives the procharged mustang (black with flames) in limited street. I think he has run with you before..

Definately bring it to Huntsville AL September 17-19. Biggest outlaw race in history with total purse in the neighborhood of $100,000. Limited Street should pay 5-10 g's. Final purses for all classes will be out soon.

WOW sounds like that should be a killer event!!! I hope somebody can get some vids from that event.... Last year there were vids posted from the Huntsville race on wheelsup.net, but that site is no longer around:(

BTW Dusty, how's the car coming along??

I'm not going to miss it. I live 45 minutes from the track so I don't have to worry about a room.

My car is going slow. I have it back from the interior shop and it looks great. I am having to make new brackets for the Corbeau seats so I can get the roll cage fit right. Driver's is done, passenger side will be done Saturday. Doing a lot of it myself to save $$$ so it's taking longer than planned. You gotta keep the wife happy you know.

Majority of the big stuff is already bought but still have a lot more to spend on the little stuff. I should have it ready for the chassis shop in a couple weeks for the roll cage and mid plate. I'm still shooting to have it ready for Reynolds in November but don't think it can happen. I like to do it right the first time.

You don't know anybody with a $2500 high hp powerglide that would turn it loose for about $1000 do you?:) That would speed things up a bit!!

LMAO

Sounds good... Unfortunately I don't know anybody selling a high HP built 'glide for 1K.... LOL! Nothing wrong with doing a lot of it yourself cause that just leaves more money for that Bruno or Liberty trans you might want one day:D  ;)

Good luck with your car and please let us know how it turns out when your done (some pics would be great):)

What are you building Dusty?

You see the GN in the autotrader in N. Al. for $29k.. Know whose it is??

Later..

Dusty is building and Turbo SBC Regal.
This is not a Factory Turbo Car, so please don't give him
a hard time about it. =)
He wants to run in the EZ Street Class.
Small street tire and stock suspension class.
He will be using a GT-47 88MM Turbo.

This car should be really nice!!!

Yea, I saw the GN in auto trader. Not sure who it is though.

What John said.

I started with an old ladies 85 regal. My original plan was for an all out S2 car but cost vs performance vs reliability steered me in another direction.

I was looking for a 6.0 car on pump gas and at least mid 5's on good gas without hurting it. Now I plan on running the EZ street class so it has to go mid-high 5's on a 30x12.50 et street.

It will have a DART block, crower 3.75 crank, billet 5.85 rods, GT47 88 thumper turbo and a liquid intercooler under the dash, Ford 9 inch rear with complete Wolfe rear suspension. I'm very picky also which makes it hard for me to rush but I'm leaning towards a really fast beater now than a semi fast show car. Something about a mid 5 second pass with no bumper fillers might be a crowd pleaser:D

Yes I might try my luck down there at the end of sept. It will be tuff to run with the 4-6 cars that will be in the 4.9 or 4.8 range but I think I should be able to beat A couple big blocks:D

What would be worse then to go home and say you went out first round?????????????????????????????????????

Who beat you?????

A Damn v6 of all things:D

Fastest ET doesn't always = the win as you know. It's all about getting down the track consistently.. Never know what the guy in the other lane might do. Most of the cars in that L/S (real 10.5 and no wheelie bars) usually go up in tire spin or stand it on the back bumper.. Walking a fine line as you know.

Hope to see you there..
1ARUNEM..

Dusty, sounds like it'll be quite a nice car. Trust me, I have no problem with a V8. If it's fast, it's alright by me. (except maybe some ricers.. hehe...)

I hope it turns out O.K. I really wanted to stick with the V6 but it didn't work out. But since I am using the regal body I can always swap back to a V6 if I find me a deal on a stage motor.

Richie, you gotta come man. You have the baddest V6 in the country and I'd like to see you rep the Buick's at this race. I have seen you race at Bristol but would like to see the car since you've stepped it up. Even the guys who are familiar with Buick's can't believe there is one out there running LS and doing so well.

TurboKid wins again at Kinston 10.5 race. Thats two races in two days. One on street tires and another on those skinny 10.5s.Two more weeks and he will be ready to smoke some more Big Blocks at the ROCK!

CKBUICK thanks for the help this weekend and the prim at the OUTBACK was killer! It always taste better when the track is buying:D .

I just watched the videos form KDS race here at work with everyone and Guess what?

We all said it at the same time we Saw the light under YOUR front tire on the last pass!!!!

Watch out you are on your way now to those bumper dragging wheel stands like I had there sunday.;)

I cant beleive I ran faster Sat. on the street tires than sunday with the new boots on. Anyway Will get them both right for the big show at the rock at the end of the month!

As of right now I think I will be going to the race at Huntsville:cool:

Richie,

What did you run and which turbo are you running?

Richie,

That is really nice!!!
What street tires do you run?
