Interesting bit of info... Maybe the tree hugging, commies in congress will try to ban drs??? NOT!

1. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
2. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year are 120,000.
3. Accidental deaths per physician are 0.171. (US Dept. of Health and Human Services)

Compare this:

1. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
2. The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500.
3. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner is .0000188.

Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
Not Everyone Has A Gun, But Almost Everyone Has At Least One Doctor.

Go figure!!!

Umm, yeah, ture figures, but completely misinterprated.

Lets look at the situation surrounding those deaths caused by doctors...

Most of those deaths are because of complications in or after surgery due to the condition of the paitent. for example, say a women needs a lung and heart transplant. Without it she would soon die. After the opperation is performed, the women suddenly dies mysteriously. Is it the doctors fault? In this case no, the womens body rejected the transplant and caused the lungs to fill with blood. All of the artery and vein conections were intact and no signs of malpractice were found. This true story is just one example of the circumstances that surround these doctor related deaths.

Say a person has a common bacterial infection and goes to the doctor for treatment. She has no know alergies and the doctor perscribes penacillin. She later dies from an alergic reaction to the antibiotics. Is this the doctors fault?

Doctors are highly educated people with 12-24 years of education. However, they are not able to go into every opperation or perscribe a drug with absolute certanty that it will help the paitent. When a person comes to a doctor with heart failure, cancer or AIDS, he is met with great obsticals that he must try to overcome.

Doctors are not gods; they work hard to treat every person to the best of their ability but offten times they are met with huge obsticals or sheir ignorance (no ones fault) which sometimes causes death. Doctors are not perfect, but their the best we've got.
