Here is a vid w/ the Kirban headlight upgrade. I put Silverstars in the low beams. The vid doesnt show the difference as well as in person, but I'll try to post a pic or two later.

The silverstars alone will increase brightness by 25%. $24 for the low beams $22 for the high beams at O'Reily's.

thats pretty big difference.

there also was a big difference on a sunny day at kirbans when i saw them last month in person

I was wondering why we would buy these from Kirbans? I have used silverstars before and they are worth the money.

This kit allows you to use a replaceable H4 bulb instead of a sealed beam. It also comes with a plug and play harness with two relays so the load is taken off the factory wiring.

AAh, makes sense! I just drove home in the dark and my low beams ain't to good!

Mateo likely bought them from an parts store and used them with the wiring kit he bought from Kirban. Casper's also sells a similar headlight wiring kit for $100.

You might say holy shit afterwards! Pick some up you won't regret it.

Oh yeah! Even with extra grounds and 14.5 volts, my old headlights were ok but these new fellas really shine. I'm in the process of re-aiming as the light pattern is brighter and different in a good way.

That's the side affect though having to adjust the low beams. Kind of like some girls boobs one high one low ;).

HIDS are still better and around the same price as Kirban Kit. But it does not have the wiring upgrade.

I looked at HIDs and they were more money for two headlights than all four in the Kirban kit.

You can still get a h4 hid kit and use them with the new housings and wiring. Then they'll really light up the street. They also use less power to run. Hids big drain is only on startup when the igniter kicks on the light.

The Kirban wiring, from Caspers, specifically states it will not work with HIDs. I'm not looking to just light up the street. I also have yet to see HIDs that weren't factory that aim light appropriately, especially in a gbody sealed beam housing. When they make one that has the cup to direct the light towards the rear and then back out for good dispersion, then maybe I'll switch. The silverstars and even just the regular halogens that come with the kit are better than stock and very adequate. JMO, but I HATE the way HIDs look on anything that didn't come with them factory. I'll be glad to be convinced otherwise someday.

The wiring not working with hids just seems silly. I hear you about housings that don't put the hid light where it should be. But there are ways around or to improve that. They do have 4x6 headlights with the little reflector cup in them. You can also have the tip of the bulbs dipped just like how the factory bulbs are. Retro-solutions I believe is a company that sell digital hid brand and they offer this service. They deal with retro fitting projectors into housing also. That's the best way to solve the light scatter problem, but I think they would kinda dumb on a turbo regal. Their kits are nice plus lifetime warranty on bulbs and ballasts. These are just the lights ive always used. I know alradco sells an hid setup that people seem to like.

Truth be told , I had the h4 4 beam setup in my gn about ten years ago. It actually had the angle eyes too. Lol. I made a " hot wire" harness just like the one Caspers sells. I was shocked at how bright those damn lights were. The bulbs had a slight blue tint that gave the headlights more of a cool white color not blue. Really wasn't much need for an hid setup after that.
But personally I just like the look of hid lights plus they run using less power than halogens.

That's good to know, especially about the cups.

Thanks.
