How was the Seminar?? And who else besides Kirban ("I don't race unless you catch me at a stop light") was offering any
info???

Well for one, it was a Restoration seminar...not a Tech seminar. I did not attend.

Steve Clark was there and gave a very detailed trouble shooting seminar on our stock braking system. It was one of the best tech seminars I've been too, mainly because the information was so directly and immediately usable.

Did Kirban go over his book "How to buy a Turbo Regal" at all?

No, but he did say it would soon be available on audiotape, as well as a Braille edition, for those can not read or see.

HTH :)

Don't know about you - but just can see a big market for a braille car buying guide, excuse the pun....:)

Well since he's always said "I'm NOT a Mechanic" I suppose he really can't go over it:)

Cool My favorite. Thanks JIM

There were a few people that left at the very beginning, Steve Clark took a little while to get rolling, but the vast majority stayed (100+ people) and were happy they did. I am now totally unafraid of trouble shooting with my brakes. He also taught everyone how to avoid any problem in the first place. It was very hands on and lasted a little over an hour. Someone that stayed come on here and back me up lol.

I thought it was good. There was a discussion on the Zaino products by checkered flag (good stuff), the brake analysis was very interesting, there was a Q&A on Buick Turbo car trivia that went on a little longer than it needed too, overall I would say time well spent...Although - I also left after about 1 hour as my stomach wanted something else besides fluids, and it was pushing 9:00pm at that point...

So I guess what you are saying is that you can’t use Kirban’s book when buying a car that could possibly have mechanical problems? Good examples would be TR’s where the transmission was supposedly rebuilt but was not and one that had actually been drag raced hundreds of times and suffered repeated E-Brake launches when the seller stated that it was not. I wonder if Kirban includes a section on selling ethics, stuff like not lying? Maybe a section that includes those unscrupulous sellers that make such statements like the ones above because they expect to sell the car to someone that lives really far away and not local so that the “problem” will be “out of sight, out of mind”.

Know anyone like this Brian?

I'm an idiot. Of course it was RICHARD Clark, not Steve Clark. Nothing personal Steve in case you are reading this lol :)

>>>> Hmmmm maybe that will be in Kirban's second book, ya know kinda like his "Side of the Road" whimsical stories......love those and his perspective.

i also hung around to the end- but, it was worth it as i learned a ton about the powermaster system- kirban pointed out about 6 people in the audience who had bought at least one turbo car from him in the past- all of them seemed very satisfied with the cars he had sold them

>>> I agree. I bought a white limited with blackout package from him in 1994 and it was a quality car.
