I was out testing with my T-Link v3.0 tonight... and found something quite odd... the car is getting 8.5-12.7* of retard @ 9.9psi.

How do I know the boost is @ 9.9psi?
My boost sensing harness is telling me so. (I am holding the calibration of it, user error, as suspect #1)

Here are the numbers:

Pass #1

LV8: 255
TPS: 1.71
Int: 128
O2: 785
MAF: 160 gps
BLM: 136
Boost: 9.9
Coolant: 149*
Road Spd: 56mph
Engine Spd: 2700rpm
ESC: 9
Spark Retard: 8.5*
Mixture: Rich
Loop Status: Closed

There were NO MALF codes.

Pass #2

LV8: 255
TPS: 1.84
Int: 128
O2: 785
MAF: 162 gps
BLM: 136
Boost: 9.9
Coolant: 149*
Road Spd: 45mph
Engine Spd: 2850rpm
ESC: 4
Spark Retard: 12.7*
Mixture: Rich
Loop Status: Closed

Again, no MALF codes.

I am honestly thrown by the prospect of getting this much retard @ 9.9psi. But why would this keep occuring at 9.9psi... because the boost harness wasn't likely calibrated by yours truely.

The MAF GPS, seems a bit low. It is possible that my MAF just crapped out... and isn't seeing quite what it is supposed to. But that doesn't explain the TPS and O2s. Not to mention that the car runs fine, like the MAF is okay. Hmm....

Unless all of the parameters were out of whack from the get-go?

I go do some more "testing" but it 2:45am and wet out...

On my way to studying I saw the knock retard (recorded runs were working in replay, corrupted files I suppose) and decided to bump my fuel pressure 2.5psi to 42.5 total (I have twin pumps and too much FP makes the car run crappy). The boost has been set to ~19psi since some Toulene tests... so I should likely drop it back down to 17psi, due to the cold air and straight Ultra94.

Thanks for any and all feed back,

Knok??

Mike, you refer to these recordings as made on a "pass". This appears to be at less than WOT, considering the TPS readings on both lists...A little help understanding this...
Also, what boost level do you have the 2nd pump coming in at?? It appears that there are alot of the readings that are repeating themselves exactly on both recordings..[evidently the tranny shifted and caused the differences in MPH vs road speed???]

lastly, why the dual pumps on a stock engine?? Lotsa fuel there!
Suggest some more runs w/ the boost calibrated and lets look again...;) Put the FP gauge on the w/s and look at FP at WOT!
Try a run or 2 w/ 1 pump unplugged and see what happens...
Before more runs, given the weird recordings, I'd recheck the integrity of the LT cabling and boost harness plugs, etc.

Heh. It was raining... calling it a pass would be a stretch. ;)

...Honestly, I think it was over 1/2 throttle... defenitely in the PE side of the throttle.

...IIRC, 14psi.

...Yep. That. And, one "pass" was on the street (45mph) and one was on the highway (60ish).

...Heh. The car came this way. The pumps are GSS242s. I also have some 114/110 mix and some toulene I can use to boost octane, in case I got screwed at the pumps last night...paying for 94, and getting 87.

...I'll go back through the programme and double check its validity.

Without seeing the bin file of what your running there is a good chance your not even into Power Enrichment with that low of TPS voltage.

A pass means WOT, Wide Open Throttle.

bruce,
Do you mean *.bin, as in the *.bin in my JC94 chip? I am sure that you aren't talking about the TurboLink *.ecm file.

As for the "pass" thing... I feel guilty actual making 1/4 passes on public roads. But, I may have to, to get this thing tune.

I'll use "spirited drive" instead of "pass" in the future. :)
