Knock Sensor climbing in OD

Hey guys, my knock sensor climbs up at highway speeds, even though its still in vaccum. Am I getting a false knock or what, I dont want to hurt the motor, but I dont see how I can with no boost????, anyone else had this problem.

I'd say downpipe or cat banging around.
I'd check to see if they are secure.
Could be false knock but likely something is loose.

make sure your egr valve is functioning.i had cruise/part-throttle knock when mine was bad.

I'll second the EGR vlave. That's when it's supposed to be doing it's job. High coolant temp will make it worse.

My EGR valve is gone. I took it off and plugged the holes, would this cause the false knock????,

yup.

have a new chip burned and tell whoever's doing it that your egr is gone.they'll take out the extra timing that goes in for a functioning egr.

OK that will work, I got some 36lb blue top injectors I want to put in, so I will do it when I switch that out, in the mean time I will just keep the turbo turned down, and try to run some 110 octane

you can leave the boost where it's at,you're probably not running much if any boost at part throttle cruise anyway.

the higher octane will surely help tho.
