Thanks everyone for all the information on the fast system. One more question please. If we know a safe a/f ratio for the buick motors and we have a fast system. If the fast will correct the a/f to run the target a/f, and race gas like c16 will handle boost in the 20 lb range and 23 degrees of timing then how do we waste headgaskets to detonation if these are in place? Other then a fuel pump failure we should not lose a head gasket to detonation should we? Should we be able to turn up the boost as long as we stay at 11.0 a/f and 23 degrees of timing with c16 untill we reach the limits of our turbos? I understand one can have a failure to a crank or rods when we abuse them but shouldnt detonation be a non factor?

Technically you are correct, but theres too many variables involved, vehicle weight, load, engine temp, combustion chamber design, static compression ratio. Each car is different, and you will have to find the safe point for your combination. Usually by the time the fast or any engine management picks up knock its usally too late, at high boost levels anyway and the gasket is gone. Be conservative and have a good fuel system you'll be ok
