I manage the reconditioning operation at the Penske Scottsdale - 101 Collection.

I'm basically in charge of getting any car we have "showroom ready".

Bodywork, paint, window tint, paint protection film, interior repair, paintless dent repair, alloy wheel repair, auto glass and chip repair, wash and detail all fall under my boss and I.

And yes, I love my job!

Really good PDR guys are truly artists and pretty hard to come by. There are a lot of hacks out there that call themselves PDR guys, it seems almost everyone of them will say "I've been doing this for 9 years."

If I'm interviewing one that statement is actually a que for me to challenge the guy with a dent my guys can knock out in10 minutes. They will struggle with it for a while, ask if they can drill a hole (sure buddy, go ahead and pop a hole in my customers' Bentley) and the interview is over.

My wife's cousin owns a PDR business in Winston Salem North Carolina. He has been doing it for about 18 years. He has mastered the art of dent removal. He goes all over the world doing business. He also have dealerships and body shops that call him whenever there has been a hail storm. The guys who know what they are doing are truly artists. It amazes me every time I seem him do it.

I don't know what it is, but the best PDR guys I've ever seen (and I've seen a LOT) come from the Carolina's and Minnesota. Maybe it's the water........

I have been in paint and body for about 11 years but not cars 35 to 43 ft motorhomes I enjoy but would like to learn something different also. I do a lot of fiberglass work, actually I do 85% of all fiberglass and body work at the shop.It would be good to make a little extra cash though.

I've done PDR since 95 (19 years)and seems like all the PDR guys that suck spend most of there time badmouthing all the other guys.I have always let my work speak for itself and not out there trying to make a quick buck like most.On most larger dents the outcome will depend on how much time you want to spend on it.

Nice! I think there is a cars and coffee this Sat, but I have too much going on this weekend. Speaking of PDR, I need to get a ding removed from the drivers door on my GN. Too bad it's not an exotic haha. Hardly worthy of a place like that. I know a guy though who does good work.

It pays the bills.I have never put anyone under me in fear of ruining my name around here.There are a couple of companies that give their guys 6 weeks worth of training and put them out on the street Fing cars up.That is where the greed comes in.
